I know the locations were being watched on the outside for a while and I am sure more than 28 dudes were visiting. I never read of cameras inside.

ID's get lost / stolen all the time and people have to get a replacement. Maybe one should lose their ID and get a replacement before sending an ID for verification.

Maybe the person that found your ID used it because they look like you. The ID they used obviously wasn't you because the issue dates don't match.

I luckily still have a license from another state that I use.

I still don't think they are going to mess with hobbyist after the fact because unless you're a dumbass and talk then it's too much of a hassle to prove you did anything.
