It's classic bait-and-switch: give you a rock bottom price to get you in the door and then tell you that you gotta pay more to get anything worth a damn.

Asking for tips isn't as bad, but I still don't like it. First, it's hard to say no because saying no makes the client feel, well, cheap. If you expect to receive a certain amont for a session, why not ask for it up front? That way you never put your clients in the position of having to look like a tightwad just because he doesn't have tip money. Second, tips are not appropriate for this business because you get all the money. It isn't like food service where the waiters get paid a low salary and MUST make up for it in tips. Even girls who work for agencies usually add the agency fee into the up-front price. Third, while I realize this doesn't apply to everyone, there is to some of us an element of fantasy in this business. We use terms like "GFE" and "PSE" to denote that we are looking for a certain type of atmosphere. In either of those atmospheres I've never heard any of the girls ask for tips, so that kind of ruins the mood, if you know what I mean.

Just felt I had to add my input on Kaylee. I met her once this past summer (once was enough) First of all tha pic's that she post are sure as H*** are not her. Not in her wildest dreams. I agree with G Dawg on his points about tipping and upselling. The escort should at minimum state that their rate is $$, [I]plus[/I] tip. This will alert the hobbyist that there will be additional charges for services. The potential client will then be able to make some kind of judgment as to whether the “initial” fee plus tip is within his spending budget for the encounter. If the total fee is too much, he can then decide to go elsewhere to someone who offers a similar fee that is “all inclusive”. To wait until the fee is paid, or the encounter is already underway before the subject of tips comes up, or even just when the client shows up at the door, is at best sneaky and dishonest.

Many girls, and some agencies especially, include a disclaimer in their ads that any $$ contribution is for the “girl’s time only”. This is a way, I guess, that the provider feels comfortable that they will not be accused of promoting prostitution. Honestly though, very few clients pay much attention to this disclaimer as they know that it is there for just that stated purpose. And that is the case most of the time. I would be willing to say that 90% of the escorts I have seen or contacted do not follow that disclaimer. The stated “fee” is the cost of the encounter.

I am not saying it is wrong to ask for a tip, but it should be known upfront that the provider is expecting one in addition to the fee they are stating upfront for the encounter. This is due to the fact that this is the [I]true[/I] cost of the service, not just the lower, initial fee used just to “reel” the client in by dishonest providers. Why waste each other's time?

Even worse is upselling. Again, it is completely dishonest. To provide a basic fee, then make available a list of “a la carte” costs for any additional services once the client and provider are face-to-face, represents the worst in this hobby. There are several agencies that employ this tactic. In some cases, the upsell may be initiated by the provider that shows up for encounter. In others, it may be encouraged by the agency. In either case, they usually fall back on that disclaimer about “the girls time only”. Again, the idea that additional charges will apply should be mentioned upfront.

Alissa is right when she states that the price should be set at a rate to which the provider is comfortable with. That way, both the client and provider know what to expect in the way of services provided and compensation for such services.

Asking for a tip is one of the biggest turnoffs any girl could ever do. Just like someone else said, what would you do if a waiter or whoever asked you if you were going to tip? You wouldn't leave a tip, that's for sure!

I dont take any more money with me than what I am quoted. If you are relying on a tip, you would be out of luck. I have tipped on the repeat because of excellent service, but not at the time. I will let the person know that the next time I see them I will add some extra, but when the deal is made, I figure it is a deal.
