You are wrong the president can veto the bill and then it goes back to both houses with a message of why it was vetoed. Both houses then have to pass the legislation again via 2/3 vote. Then the law is enacted via override vote. Just because the legislation passed by 2/3 vote the first time does not make it veto proof! The "pocket veto" via not signing it only happens when congress is out of session at the 10 day mark!! Sorry to disappoint you with facts.

The Constitution grants the president 10 days to review a measure passed by the Congress. If the president has not signed the bill after 10 days, it becomes law without his signature. However, if Congress adjourns during the 10-day period, the bill does not become law.
