It's a "feature" to help you search and find them later or organize your photos by where you took them. In reality if you're not careful, you are sending your exact location to someone when you send them a picture. Audit your mobile devices and decide if you really want this "feature" turned on. If you engage in hobbying from a burner phone -- and you should -- I can think of no reason to have this enabled.
