Went to A today and was turned away with "come back in an hour" after the "you been here before?" Guess you do better with an appointment if you're not a regular. Went to CTS and saw Lily (fyi: daytime hours for this gem). Shes pretty nice.
This concludes my report.
On another note, if you're going to A, $20 in your pocket will get you scolded and then laughed at. $40 will just get you scolded or scalded depending on how you look at it (neither will provide you with a good visit). It's high end for all you cheapskates out there, but definitely worth a visit. Plan accordingly. You get what you pay for.
On an entirely separate note. Rainbow is a value and a great place to visit. Somehow M has a cult following. I have never understood that other than she has been around a while and has regulars. She is very aware of these boards, my friends. If you ask her about it, she will tell you in clear English- DO NOT post her name here as I have done. She doesn't want the press even if it is good. .2 always has worked at RB and that's why I give .4, because they dont complain. Any time a MP complains about a tip my advice is to call them straight out on it. Sometimes it just causes a rift and other times it fixes the problem. Even better is to pull out a knot and tell them where you will take your business in the future. It's all a ruse people to get the benjamins from your wallet to their purses. Have we learned nothing about the services we solicit? These ladies make good money or they quit their jobs and move on. So a .2 tip for an hours work is high. If they dont like it leave a waffle house application on the table when you leave. Overtipping is one of the biggest reasons I see for disatisfied visits. One person does it and then they expect it.
An occasional big tip will get a particular person to remember you, but the Chinese have a memory that would rival Alex Trebek! so its unnecessary.
YMMV

I know, I was one of them !! I hope you guys aren't "throwing me under the bus" , by posting you you give 20-40 for the tips. I had tipped that way for a long time , so as not to rock the boat. But the few times I've left more for a girl, she acts like she's disappointed in the tip. I don't understand it, so I'll just go back to the 20-40 and have more money :)
This seems to be a pretty reasonable scale. What drives me absolutely nuts is when they try to get you to tip more for the same service you have always gotten.
I was at an AMP I have been visiting quite regularly for the last six months or so. I have been there maybe 14 times in six months and have seen the same two attendants. Yesterday I had one of them try to get me to tip more for the exact same thing we have been doing for the last 7 times. This was on the flip which is a real buzz kill. That kind of stuff just pisses me off to no end. I mean normally I am at $.6 for each session, so it's not like I am one of the .2 tippers.
I am one of those people that when I go to a restaurant and find a good dish. That is the only dish I get at that establishment. This was like walking into that restaurant and finding out that the dish I want just went up %30. It just makes me want to find another restaurant.
Who knows maybe it was an off day, but this was the same kind of crap that caused me to stop going to the other AMP I went to for about a year last year.
I know some of the providers read this board. My message to you is to never give your regular customer a reason to go look elsewhere.
Enough ranting for now.
Lots of talk about how much to give at the local AMPs. I may be too generous, but here is my system, if you will:
1. Nice massage, no HE: .2
2. Nice massage, HE, no mutual touch: .4
3. Nice massage, HE, mutual touch under clothes with exposed skin: .6
4. Nice massage, "more happy" ending: .7-.8, depending
5. Nice massage, "happiest" ending: 1.0
6. Crappy massage with bad attitude: 0.0
I think the "girls" working in these AMP's just dont think things out. To me it seems like they get a regular tip and they figure the guy that gave it to them wont give more so they dont push it, but if they see a guy tip more than the norm, they try to squeeze him for even more instead of just being happy with the extra he gave in the first place.
I've almost always tipped. 4 at Rainbow, Lily's, Galaxy, Hannas, Woodlawn and every other place in Charlotte that I have visited, regardless of whether it was a 1/2 hour session or an hour session. Honestly,. 4 is probably too high for a 1/2 hour session (probably should be tipping. 2 or. 3), but. 4 seems about right for an hour session. I don't really go anywhere but Rainbow now, but I've been going there for almost 3 years now and always tipping the same. I'm sure most of the girls would notice if I suddenly changed the amount I tip now.
I did tip Suzie. 5 for an hour long session recently, and she seemed very appreciative of the little extra. I think there is some truth to the proposition that many girls will try to get more money from a guy who appears to be a mark (isn't that the case in pretty much all hobbying?), but it makes little sense to act that way with a regular, long-time customer at an AMP.
The first time a girl acts unappreciative for my regular tip (or especially the regular plus a little extra) or tries to wheedle more money out of me would likely be the last time I visit that establishment. Also, I would probably tell the girl and/or the MMS why I would not be returning in the future. I think people in service industries often need to hear, explicitly, why someone is taking some action or why someone is pleased or displeased for it to sink in and affect their behavior. I'm a really nice guy, I'm not a confrontational person and I'm probably a bit too generous with a lot of women under many circumstances, but I'm not a fool or a rube. I know when someone is trying to play me, and I do not appreciate it.
This has been a much needed discusion on tipping. Some of you guys have clearly tipped your way into a corner. I get the same EXACT service (maybe more) as you with a $20 Tip. And you are paying $40-$60. Some here would call me cheap. I think I'm smart. The premise is that they have given you extra service that warants heavy tipping. I look at it totally differntly. I can get a great Regular massage anywhere for 50-60. We go to an AMP and pay 30 more than that right up front because we are getting a little extra. On top of that we feel the obligation to tip and that is fine but do the math people. Some of you are paying 120-140 for a massage and a little tug? The girls probably get a great laugh at your expence after you've walked out. Grow some rocks gentleman. Your getting hosed and you're happy to share the info with us. It's like paying way to much for car and telling everyone you got suckered. Who does that?

Who does that?
I've been mongering for a lot of years, in a lot of places, in a lot of different venues (other than street girls). I know, and have known, a few providers fairly well, on a basis that goes beyond purely business. I've had many discussions about pricing and services, some of which were funny, some of which were rather disturbing and all of which were interesting. I think I have a pretty good grasp of the psychology of providers as it relates to pricing and services. There are often differences in the level and quality of services that one receives based on a whole host of factors, price paid being just one of those factors.
The truth is, none of us knows exactly what happens in someone else's session in most any venue. You may think you are getting exactly the same service as everyone else who pays a specific amount, and you might be correct. However, you might be getting shortchanged in some way. Or, you really might be getting an even better deal than you realize. These things are simply impossible to know. Providers have told me that they provide services to me that they do not provide to others at the price I pay. (Here, I am not referring specifically to Rainbow.) Are they lying to me? Maybe. How am I ever going to know the truth?
Although I have not been posting on this board for very long, I've been reading this board for many years. I believe these discussions generally tend to do two things: (1) provide some good, useful information as to what other people are paying and tipping; and (2) veer off into name-calling and insults, which ultimately just generates a lot of ill will and makes everyone feel bad. I think we have had a few good informational posts, and I would respectfully suggest that it's probably best to leave it at that.

For a newbie , he makes alot of sense !! He just might be on to something !
I view tipping as a means to an end.I begin with the premise of respect for these fine korean caregivers, and I find generous (40 to 60) tipping gets me to fs more quickly. Two or three visits and usually I'm home free.If its plainly not in the cards I move on. All depends on your goal. Let's not generalize, shall we? I don't want to skew the market tho so that's why I move on if the menu is obviously limited, but in my experience 90 per cent of these fair ladies are fully capable of fs.

I am sure that your $40-$60 tip buys their goodwill. And, I have no doubt, often results in more options being placed onto the bargaining table. But you must know that a lot of amp workers have been spoiled and have gotten to the point of expecting it. Many think that most men are foolish with their money and part with it easily. Often they want you to think there will be more next time (whether there will be or not). Even if you are leaving disappointed and they know you are disappointed, they will try to make you believe there will be more next time.
I have no problem imagining that if they regularly get a $60 tip for a hj, then the same $60 tip isn't going to cut it once they provide you with FS. Most spa workers are so afraid that your tip won't be big enough for FS that they often negotiate the fee upfront (which, by the way, is how most of them get into trouble with LE).
Grubbing for money is how most females operate. Obtaining money is how most achieve orgasm. Money is almost always the basis for dating and marriage. Money and more money is usually the basis for FS either for the moment or in a long term relation.
I am not a big spender and I stay clear of those places where there is too much talk about money and too great an expectation. It would be my luck that the joint would be busted while I was visiting.
I like the places that give you complimentary HE's and are grateful for a $20 tip on top of their higher than normal door fee.
I really don't see where respect is a consideration. I don't tip my doctor or auto mechanic even though I respect both of them. Leaving someone a fair tip is not a sign of no respect. Walking out the door having left no tip sends them a message. Even then, it is still not a sign of no respect.
Them scolding you for leaving less than a huge tip is very much DISRESPECTFUL.

Have to dissagree with parts of this, mainly the thing about tipping your doctor or auto mechanic, thats a lame comparison. Do you tip a delivery person? do you tip a waitress who serves you? or a bartender? or the person who cuts your hair? the girls work in a tip oriented business, the door fee is not charged by the girl servicing you and she is lucky if she even gets half of it. Now that being said I am still against overtipping as the girl does get part of the door fee, and a 20 dollar tip even if she does not get ANY part of the door fee is still 20 dollars for an hours work, probably more than most guys using their services make. But yes if extras are negotiated thats one thing, but for a straight massage with HE I see no reason to tip more than .2, maybe if she is cute and shows you a little then .4 anything over that is just screwing up the market for the rest of us.
The most I ever tip a girl here is $40 and that has been the girls at Rainbow and Bebe at Spa74.
I'm sorry but I'm originally from New York where a HE is a given and part of the service. Plus you had about 300 AMPs to choose from. The all charged about 60/half and 80/hr but you could work out less.
The amount these places expect here is crazy considering the location.
I refuse to give more than 20 unless the service is exceptional or I am a regular with someone like Monica.
And that brings me to Monica. I have prasied her to the heavens on this board and I am guilty of Monica haigography as well.
But let me state, the praise that is heaped on Monica is in very little way a reflection of her "hottness" or skill.
The praise heaped on Monica is a reflection of the dearth of decent AMPs in CLT.
In NYC a Monica is the avg or even sub par in some places.
I wish CLT had better and more AMPs. Esp. If like me you don't even consider Woodlawn, Midori, SUperrelax, perfect10 due to the crappy times I've had there.
That leaves you with about 3-4 to choose from.
Sigh.
Apologies for the the rant.

I was just saying that giving someone a tip is not because you respect them or not. I used doctors and auto mechanics as an example of people I respect and I normally don't tip their services. I do understand that tips increase the provider's earnings and is also a way to show appreciation for their efforts and service. People working in the service sector often rely on tips so that their earnings are not bare minimum.
I am sure that amp workers get very little of the door fee and that they depend on tips very much so. I agree with you.
Just for information. The standard split on the asian amp door fee:
Girl get $10 on the $60 1/2 hr & $20 on the $80 hr.
