Many point to it as a prime example of systematic racism. He got that prosecutor fired that was investigating his son. That was 5 billion of our money. No he hasn't scammed anyone. Now we got 4 years with Loser Trump and he takes a soaring stock market and totally trashes it by constantly lying about a deadly pandemic that would "magically disappear" in a week. But that pandemic has killed over 285,000 Americans and caused 30 million people to lose their jobs and over 200,000 local restaurants to close. Frankly, primary voters tend to be the zealots of the party they represent, and the rest of us that have a life wind up with whatever dogshit they toss out at the end of the season.

Since many states (looking at you Kentucky) have a closed primary, independents or more moderates don't even get a chance to vote. Couple that with the fact that you have to be a registered member of a particular party for a certain amount of time BEFORE you can vote in a primary, well, you get the idea. The one thing that both parties seem to be able to agree on is that they don't want any independents or third parties popping up to kill their fun. JMO.
