So for the 2nd week in a row B***** stood me up. I completely understand being skittish, but we have talked a few times and she has agreed to meet, only to not contact me on the day of. I tried to convince her that we are actually a very discriminating, well-heeled but cautious lot, wary of those we don't know and like our Missouri brethern believers in the show-me philosophy. Since Maya went to St. Louis from here it will be interesting to see if they are as true to the motto as we. but I am sorry bros because either I am not a very good salesman or the product sucks (still bad) because we Jugheads will not be getting any of Veronica's loving either. She did say she had someone she thought might come and she might try it in a month or so and see if we still suck or it was merely the wrong alignment of the stars and the moon that made their efforts here so paltry. Even if we do wind up getting the "B" team we need to step up to the plate and prove once again that we are not "Indianoplace". Do you think the CIB might help subsidize our efforts so we can prove we are a big league town, like Miami or NY or DC? You know, at only $100 dollars or so per player we could put this place on the map, hell even tight wads like us will often drop the two and a half bills it takes to see a triple a farm team that we usually get here. So write your councilman, your representative, hell maybe even the big Obama himself to see if some of those bailout funds could be used to get all of us "stimulated" once again.
