Just took a trip to pp had the pleasure of seeing smokey. I had been with her before and it was so so this time around was a different story she was loud and she made a mess of the leather couch as I did her doggie style. I try to empty my pockets of anything that might fall out during a LD in the scuzzy booths at PP - imagine having to fish your wallet out from under one of THOSE cushions???? What are the chances that a law suit will temporarily stop it? If a lawsuit can somehow overturn this then things should be stable for a few years, but if things go like they have in other states the radical far right groups will keep putting pressure to kill adult activities.
Given the current mood of the country and the current loss of power of the far right, the far right's tactics may backfire and in fact loosen or even reverse laws on prostitution and other activities across the country.
At the moment they don't have the power on the national level to push their extreme agenda. Unfortunately they can't stop the extreme agenda of the far left either. It remains to be seen which is worse for us the extreme right or the extreme left.
That's some sad news about that house bill. Strip clubs will never be the same now that I've gotten FS at one. I mean, how do I go back to just plain on lap dances with some mean grind? This sucks.
So how much time do we have left as strip club mongers? When will the law go into effect?

...there's still a shot at it being voted down. On the other hand, if it passes it probably will go into effect in 6 months or so or the beginning of next year.
If that's the case, imagine the fucking that will be going on all over Providence on New Year's Eve??!!!?!?!?! :)

I have heard, and the article in the Projo said as early as next week. I did not see it on the house or senate calendars as yet. The house version says that it becomes law upon passage. So, things could start changing soon - but it's my guess that it will be gradual, and, knowing Lil' Rhody, maybe never! The do-gooders will declare victory, and the people responsible for enforcement will go on with "business" as usual. The amp scene, which has been the subject of almost all of the negative publicity, will probably take a hit, allowing the do-gooders their victory dance.
Of course, if the focus of publicity shifts over to the strip clubs, things could get dicey there also. Now it behooves mongers to give them as little informational help as possible, seeing that mongers are now specifically targeted by the new law!

The House vote is scheduled for May 11, 9 days from now. And then there will be ACLU and other appeals, and new laws don't go into effect for several months after they're passed, so my guess is that IF the law passed it'll be around the end of the year.

Putting in immediate effect into bills is one of the favorite tactics of such groups. The other is a media blitz to get the people riled up, along with a well orchestrated phone and letter campaign to get the politicians to agree.
