The numbers are calculated differently today to keep from having to do COLAS for Fed employees and Social Security. The reported 20% is absolutely fucking bullshit.

The fake 20%, actual far higher, of the last 3 years has been like throwing kerosene on the already burning to the ground Middle Class. I don't blame Gen Z and Millenials for saying fuck it we aren't playing because even if we do we aren't getting anywhere.

PLENTY of products have doubled in price in the last 3-4 years, this would include housing. And home prices were a hell of alot cheaper 40 years ago to go along with that 17% mortgage rate.
