The only time I criticize a girl is if she is vague in texts and responds super late. Those girls always end up texting you back hours later at night sounding desperate. I'll reiterate that the OP was wrong for wasting this girls time. It's not cool to string someone along until you find a better deal. She had a right to be angry. I disagree with your acquaintance's take on respect: You don't demand or command respect--you EARN it. No one is owed respect.
