His hand comes up so fast that he seems to slam the cell phone into his head.
I continue past buzz-cut, walk in the front door of the hotel but instead of heading left to the elevators, I walk across the short lobby and out the back door of the hotel. Here I stop a few feet to the right of the door, light a cigarette and turn back to look into the lobby. Less than 20 seconds pass before buzz-cut bounds through the front door striding to his left in the direction of the elevators with the cell phone plastered to his ear.
Once he's out of sight, I go back through the lobby, get in my car and drive the half block to a Steak and Shake, pull in and park. After a minute or two I start to feel like a paranoid dumb-ass when I notice the gold Impala heading my way. He pulls into Steak and Shake, circles the nearly empty parking lot before driving back towards the hotel.
A day later, calm and collected, I am sure that if I'the gone through with the appointment, I would have been fine. After all. What are the chances that buzz-cut was a Cop sitting in the parking lot acting as a spotter for a sting?
I would agree that if it was Leo setting you up, that would be bad. But, even worse would have been a pimp thug putting a gun in your face a robbing you. Be careful out there guys!
