I was a bit surprised to hear this story. It seems in todays era the push would be for more legal brothels and not vise-versa (no pun intended). I know the Nevada brothels are more a showplace and ripoff and most could not care less if they closed but what is the point? They have been around since the 70's so why now? I know it is all political but what will this really accomplish? Has anyone ever heard of trafficking ever linked to one of these places?

All the businesses had to shut down and all the illegal activities moved right on the border. Now, in a couple of weeks I will come visit Nevada, not so much to gamble on the machines, but to put my beaver hunting skill to work. Lets keep the brothels of Nevada open, it is the oldest know profession and was here before Harry and hopefully after Harry.

I was in Christchurch, New Zealand 2 yrs ago. Prostitution was legalized several years before that. They have some rules, such as over 18 yrs, health card, no street walking. But massage parlors, soliciting in bars, and newspaper ads are all ok. In the newspaper, I saw a column and a half of ads. The girls in the ads would give their physical description, then would send you a pic of them in the email. It usually costs 120 NZ dollars / hr (about 80 US dollars). Outcalls are legal in Canada as long as the arrangements are made privately eg. Email, telephone. Incalls are not legal (common bawdy) Picking up a street walker is illegal as the arrangements are made in public.
Toronto, Montreal, Niagara Falls and Vancouver are good destinations.
