This is exactly what I am saying!
Yesh the prostitution charge, though potentially life ruining, is not my biggest fear. It's what would happen if the provider just happens to have a significant stash of drugs in the room. Which I've personally seen before. To get caught up in a drug bust would be horrible.
We can't just look at the prostitution charge in and of itself. As you so eloquently mentioned, what about them there drugs! Some guys on here are in professions that if they ever caught a drug charge, especially if their profession requires licensure, you are toast! LEO knows they aren't just going to reel in solicitors. They know that if they can find people willing to engage in one illegal activity, it is likely that those persons are breaking other laws as well. Again, all I'm saying is, be open-minded. Never say what can't happen because as long as LEO can work within the confines of the law, they would do it if it means bringing in more criminals. Personally, I don't have an issue with what LEO does (in this respect) - there are many people (human trafficking) who are forced into prostitution and I am glad someone is out there trying to prevent such things as this. Any who folks, even if LEO only targets Johns who do outcall less than 5% of the time, the million dollar question is, do you want to be a part of that five percent?!
My friend, just make sure
Wow, all this discussion is really good but also shines some reality. You guys ever find it hard to stop doing these type of activities? I said I was only going to do it once. That certainly failed and I'm looking for my meeting. The little head sure knows how to persuade me.
...until you find a way to get out of this thing, think with that brain in your head as much as possible! A criminal record is one of the risk involved and can be extremely damaging in more ways than I can count but we must consider other risk factors. There are Johns who have been robbed, shot, and killed participating in this so-called hobby. So my advice, try to exit the life as soon as you can unless you're ready to deal with its inherent risk. Foremost of all, educate educate educate yourself on the do's and don'ts! You are going to take risk but make sure it's well calculated risk.
Again! We might say to ourselves
...LEO needs to fight more important crimes in our society like murder, drugs, gangs, etc. However consider this, as far as prostitution goes, many of these crimes are associated with it such as murder and drugs, to name a few. There was a gentleman who came to Jax (he was from Ohio) for whatever purpose recently (a professional guy who owned a biz). It appeared that he may have contacted a provider while at his motel. Who knows what transpired or what lead to his unfortunate death but he's dead now; some pimp appears to have shot him! Possibly for involving himself in something that seems as harmless as prostitution. I looked at his social media page and my heart went out to him (because it certainly could have been one of us) and his family. The sad thing is he had just loss his mother a few months before his death. Also, the fact that he left his home to come to another city and die for foolishness, no doubt. Very sad.
Now, some people on here are very astute when it comes to this activity or so-called hobby and they take all the necessary precautions to ensure their safety. BRAVO to you- whoever you are! However, there are many people in this hobby who knows very little about what they must do to keep themselves safe. Therefore it is wonderful (thanks to Admin and company) that they allow such a forum and opportunity for people to have these discussions in a relatively safe setting. I don't want to wait till I get jammed up and then decide that these conversations are paramount! I want to discuss and get educated about it now so that whatsoever risk I undertake, it will be done with calculation and not carelessness or even ignorance. Yes IGNORANCE!
Look, I have had Shetty jobs and I have had great jobs. What determines whether or not you're going to have a great job largely depends on your record. Hence, my desire is to be well informed so that I can always have great job opportunities (and being informed can keep me safe until I can make a clean break from this life without consequences). Let me tell you this too, not only does criminal records prevent you from getting certain jobs but they can affect you as far as getting into certain colleges. Yes! Colleges are now performing criminal background checks! Especially post baccalaureate degree programs. So consider these discussions tools to help people not fruck up their lives for a piece of snatch! Then again, getting a criminal record for prostitution is only one aspect to consider; as I mentioned above, you can die as well! Sometimes they prevent you from getting into certain apartments.
Again, I am going to say BRAVO to those who know so much about this subject matter but you'd also be surprised how much people don't know and they must be educated on how to stay as many steps ahead of LEO as possible. Just my $0. 02.
Lastly, consider this also, Leo is not always going to show their hand in everything they do. Just because it's not in newspapers and such do not mean it didn't happen. Do you think they tell us everything they are doing?
Question or concern, shall I say
Good advice, info and points to think about.
Now, let me tell y'all something, LEO won't stop you for picking up a SW. Just for that NO, because there's no grounds for an intervention. However, theyll have grounds to stop you if you break transit law. For example, you stop in the middle of the highway or main road where traffic is supposed to flow, you'll get stopped and be prepare to be questioned, her to be questioned, possible car search if he cop gets probable suspicion, etc etc etc. That could be worse than a solicitation charge because if the lady has her medicine on her or if she decides to drop it in your car you'll be in big deep trouble. So if you pick up a SW, drive like a grandma and follow all the transit laws (speed, stops, red lights, etc). A stupid mistake could open the door for LEO to intervene. That's my tip for safe mongering defensive behavior.
I wonder if hitchhiking is still against the law (I think it is) and if they (LEOs) see you pick someone up off the streets, if they can stop you just for that. There was a guy on the SWer thread who said that he was caught with a SWer in his car. Apparently they went to a very secluded spot that looked suspicious to LEO (got to hide in plain sight gents). They both were eventually summoned to get out of the car and a search commenced. The guy on here said that the girl tossed her drugs in the back of his car, I believe, and when LEO found them, she wouldn't own up to them. Long story short, he said that he was out of 10's of thousands of dollars trying to clear his name. It doesn't only have to happen on the streets though. What if LEO comes in the hotel room where you and the hooker are and they find drugs? Very nasty situation and part of the risk.
Guess this might be the answer

Hitchhiking in the United States is legal. The confusion lies with the United States Uniform Vehicle Code. The law states: "No person shall stand in a roadway for the purpose of soliciting a ride. ".
Don't know how solid this source is.
LEO always have a reason to stop you

Can they arrest you for giving someone a ride, no but as stated if stopping in the roadway to pick up someone is illegal then they got you, light out, did not use your turn signal, illegal you-turn, and you should get it by now.
Keep Safe brothers and have a Merry Christmas if you believe some fat bastard is going to fit down your chimney with a hottie for you.
