Unless they change the constitution I wouldn't be so hasty.
Hey A2,
Time to change the name of this thread or start a new one?
Give it time and this will be overturned along the way. The reason Craigslist no longer has prevalent adult section is because they caved. No matter what you think about Law enforcement this is a breach of the constitution and our rights. But like many laws someone standing up to this might actually lead to legalizing prostitution across the US or at least in some states (remember pot has been legalized only because someone fought for medical use). Anyway if you get on Backpage there are still ads just got to look. But hopefully it will bring more advertisers to USA Classified.
This has nothing to do with the current administration and everything to do with the law (or some interpretation of the law). There has been a lot of heat lately (deservedly so) about human trafficking and underage girls forced into the sex trade. It is documented that BP has been a tool for those who do this. While I completely agree that what two adults do in private should be legal, I also applaud the justice department for targeting those who would abuse minors. If BP had been better about controlling their posts, they might not have been shut down.
Also, if you think a liberal Presidential administration is going to be better for the hobby than the ultra conservatives that just got voted in, you are living in a dream world. Despite the fact that many of those "conservative" lawmakers and voters are just as depraved as the rest of us, they will hypocritically try to gain favor with the Evangelical voters by hitting hard on those Biblical sins.
Timing is everything. Coincidental?

My useless 2 cents. Legalize prostitution
I was stationed in a foreign country where prostitution was legal and it wasn't Holland. There wasn't this stigma to prostitution that is here in the US. Also, it wasn't a haven for sex traffickers. Women had to have a license and medical exams regularly. If there was a complaint by either worker or john, it was handled like any other legal encounter. Nothing was shady or under the table. I'm sure there were UTR's there but in a world where police is not hounding these women, why push for the aggravation. Now in this country, having sex is dirty, perverse. A woman can go Polish a man's toilet for minimum wage and that is considered good and honorable. But let that same woman get $50 for polishing a guy's knob, she's sick, she's demented, she's unworthy. He is a sicko, he's a pervert, he has problems. These types of people need jailed. Never mind that we tell ourselves that we live in a free market economy. A person should be able to make money based on their talents or offerings. As long as it's not sex that's ok.
How can legalized prostitution help human trafficking? IF a man comes in contact with a kid right now, nature will probably takes it's course and the man will find a way to keep it hush hush. After all, if he says anything, he is just as guilty of solicitation as the girl is of prostitution. So far, I've been lucky, all of the women I've seen have been women. But imagine it's legal. More men, perhaps some with different morals, may participate without the fear of police interference. Some other person may call the encounter off and call the police immediately. He's not guilty of anything and the girl is rescued.
What about people whose spouses die and they've got some age on them. They can't necessarily "date" but they still have the urges that all men have. With legalization, people can take care of natural urges without having to go through the awkward situation of trying to date a woman or seduce her.
The dirty little secret. The government isn't forcing backpage to shut down adult classifieds. They can run them for free. BUT just like craigslist, adult services advertising has a fee. The government can ask credit card companies to quit payments to backpage. Can they stop PayPal? Can they stop BitCoin. Other advertisers will come up. One day we might even get the government out of bedrooms. Who knows? Stay safe.
Is this the same belle that's trouble?
