Because he figured they would not report it
That's why there are trials, lawyers and judges. The story sounds incomplete, why would you rob someone at gunpoint that you know and then let them leave? People are crazy but that would be nuts.
No idea what happened. If he did it, he figured they would not report since that would implicate them.
Just like hookers / pimps / fake hookers rob customers figuring the guy won't report it to the cops.

In the local paper for those who might go.
Looks like this place has been discovered and LEO has been notified for those who might frequent the MP on Central on the northside of the city in Jefferson Park. MP's really aren't my thing. Just giving a heads up.

A Chicago firefighter is expected to be placed on leave after being charged with running an "erotic massage" business from his apartment.
Brendan K-G, 37, faces a felony count of promoting prostitution and was released from custody Friday after posting a $500 bond set by Cook County Judge Kelly McCarthy, court records show.
...
K-G was identified to police by a 23-year-old woman who said he instructed her to set her prices for erotic massage at $150 for a half-hour and $200 for an hour-long session, the report states.
The woman told police she performed as many as 50 massage sessions at his home.
K-G received half of the proceeds when she performed sexual acts, the report said. The acts allegedly took place at K-G's apartment while he was home.
Police said K-G took out ads for erotic massage services on adult websites and men seeking the services would call a phone number and be directed to K-G's home, which was within 1,000 feet of a school.
I'm assuming this was the Bryn Mawr and Kedzie girls?
