Lance547, you on point about chicks sizing you up because when I first tried going down I didn't know jackshit besides a couple guys giving me the very basics and could tell some girls were thinking of trying something. But this is where you can't show no fear or hesitation or nervousness. They are all undocumented looking for day work in restaurants as prep cooks. Same day work-pay situation. Girl I grabbed didn't have time for a full day to work and wanted something quick. Some of the stories got me to reflecting about things I do without even thinking about. In my early days, I had a few bad dates. One chick keyed my car horribly when she got out because I wouldn't give her a big tip (she wanted a $50 tip LOL). It ended up costing me nearly $500 to get it repaired and repainted. And I had a girl try to grab my phone and run.

Over time, I 've kind developed an approach that has served me well for years:

1) After the pickup, introduce with a first name, but no talk of money or anything else initially (for the first 2 to 3 blocks).

2) Immediately get off the avenue. Now her BF / pimp / whatever are nowhere around. But I carefully watch rear view mirror. Is anyone following? If I see a car (or even not), I'll ask the girl if the car immediately behind is with her. She'll usually turn and look. That gives her a clear view that there's nobody in the backseat, but she also knows I'm paying attention.

3) Off the avenue, I tell her I've got a spot I like to go to. I tell her where it is and how long the drive is going to be. She knows where we're going and what to expect and her anxiety isn't going into overdrive guessing about it. I've found that the clearer my communication is, the less she has to fill in the gaps in her mind. Continue chatting the rest of way about anything: the weather, cops, the Eagles, whatever.

4) Head to the spot. I NEVER go to a spot the girl suggests. Especially if she's adamant about it. My preferred spot is far enough from the avenue (about 2 miles) that if the girl wants to dash, she's got herself a long, long walk. That distance cuts down on the bullshit significantly. It's also not in the 24 or 26 police precincts, so the cops are less active.

5) I tell her exactly what I want and what I'm paying her. I don't ask what she charges. It's strictly one-way communication. She's free to walk back.

6) Twice, I've had a girl demand I pull over because of whatever her brain was telling her. I always keep $3 in my sun visor. If she bails, I hand her the $3. It's the price of a soda and hopefully she won't fuck up my vehicle on her way out. They may ask for more, but that's what I'm offering to get out.

7) I keep a $5 in the ceiling console. If she gets real demanding about a tip or if she deserves it, I've got it at the handy. I actually have cash stashed in various places. The girl NEVER sees the wallet or the phone or anything of value (rings, watches, anything). I've had a couple of girls try fishing her hand in my pants looking for valuables.

8) Use your key and lock up your glove box before hitting the ave. You don't want the girl grabbing your vehicle registration with your identity and handing that over to some guys. About 10 years back, some of you guys may remember the girl that was doing the blackmail scheme. Don't give them ammo.

9) One of your best uses of time is to really learn the area. Study Google maps and street views. And spend some time driving around the hood. Know what is where. The girls know the territory well. You should too.

There's really not much you can do about the nodding off. If that happens, I've got a second place where the streets are quiet and there's no building cameras. I pull up and help her out of the car.

Sometimes I go to a suggested spot if I do not like the spot I'll leave and find my own spot some girls will complain about going to far away from the area I just tell them never mind and drop them off. I make sure they do not have quick access to my phone or wallet I have pepper spray in my vehicle if they decide to act stupid I'll threaten them with a spray and beat down.

I used to stick my wallet under my floor mat, cause there's no way anyone's getting under my feet without me knowing. Donation money in the pocket, an extra 20 in the visor, and maybe 5 or 10 in the ash tray.

Pull up with her door very close to something so she sees that she can't open the door and dash. She's much more likely to just do her job and get paid if she sees her easy escape is gone.
