No, it's not minority rule. If you like the popular vote it simply means you would like for California and New York to decide all federal elections (and that of course, would mean liberal, and of course most liberals would enjoy that). We are not a democracy, we are a democratic republic. The founders did not want a consolidation of one massive group of people to determine the outcome of federal elections. The electoral college intends to balance the power of the vote so that those in rural areas and less populous states are not forgotten. It may not be perfect, but it is a far cry better than having LA and NYC decide virtually every election, unless of course, you're a democrat.
What I find interesting is that everyone, and EVERY candidate that enters the race KNOWS that it is governed by the electoral college and that's how it works; they only seem to complain about it if it doesn't go their way.
I have no desire to further engage in the political debate here. It serves no point to do so.
I see this a lot on all the righty political boards. What it really means is while you don't want liberals to win elections, you're perfectly fine with some dipshit in Idaho having a vote that counts 5 times more than someone in CA or NY. But that's OK, right?

But that's fine, right?
How does a vote in Idaho count 5 times more than someone in California? Idaho has 4 votes in the Electoral. California has 55. I personally don't want "dipshits" in California or New York making the decisions for me. Like one said earlier on here it's only when a Democrat loses an election that they say it should go off the popular vote. If you know going into a campaign that the popular vote doesn't get you elected and then you should campaign to win the electoral. Pretty simple.
That dipshit in Idaho is more and more likely to be a West Coaster who moved to the potato state to escape the ridiculous cost of living, high taxes, stifling government regulations, etc., they endured in California. The same can be said for Utah which is now entering the medium stage of purple. While Colorado is headed towards being blue over the next decade. Montana and Wyoming are in the early stages of turning purple. So, in time, things will change in the mountain west and electorial college will favor the blue state of mind.
Yeah because Hillary has always told the truth. Jesus.
Open your eyes tiger. Trump has told over 18,000 in three years. Not even close to the same by light years.

It's sad what our party's turned into thanks to racists like trump.

I've already seen a few polls where FL could easily go blue this year.
A Republican winning a Presidential election in the near future is pretty much mission impossible.

LOL.

But overall, about 70% of all Latinos vote Democrat.

I try not to watch any of the cable "news" shows and choose to read / research things for myself. I also stay away from Facebook and Twitter as well. I only discuss politics with my friends. Some tend to lean one way or the other, but that doesn't bother me. I can't deal with people who are entrenched and stuck in that mode where they think that "their side" is superior. I consider myself to be a Libertarian. I have voted for both Republicans and Democrats in the past and will continue to base my decisions on the issues, rather than vote along party lines.
I think that we should all have to pass a test (civics, political science, math, etc,) before you can vote. Maybe even spelling! Everyone should be able to vote, but you should have a clue on how our government works.
