Like several of you, I get "touching base" msgs from providers with some frequency. It's a personal touch in what is, at least on some level, a distinctly personal hobby. So, yeah, sure, it's just good business. But with a couple of longtime playmates, it does go beyond that: pictures with & information about their family, real names & long, chatty, even thoughtful conversations.

To me it just seems strange that someone would give personal information to someone they provide services to.
