My next trip out there, I think I will definitely get a rental car. You don't have to depend on getting ripped off from a cabbie or driver and since majority people own a GPS (whether on phone or another device) , you can never get lost. Parking is free at every hotel / casino in Las Vegas. Don't have to walk to get somewhere in or outside the strip. You can negotiate prices even lower with CGs and SWs because you can tell them that they don't have to walk to your hotel if there is any walking required. You can hit anywhere outside the strip, like SCs, AMPs, girls that do INCALLS ONLY or whatever anyone feels like going at any time.

I also think that if you get the smallest, cheapest rental car, it could be cheaper than taxi fees (fare + tip) and gas all put together or you might come out even depending on how much you travel in Vegas. If you get trashed at a place, then you would take a taxi, and leave the rental overnight at one of the hotels and not get charged.

It feels like renting a car would be the ideal thing to do for any monger visiting Vegas. Anyone have a difference in opinion?

To me, looking for a SW in Vegas kinda defeats the purpose because many have said here that there is no difference in a SW in Vegas and anytown, USA. While in Vegas I either go the CG route or the escort route, with a lot more emphasis on the CG since that is a scene that is not really available in other places. Maybe Atlantic City. Why hook up with a SW that is not that different from what is available in your city. Just my opinion.

Also, don't forget that CGs offer the lowest probability of getting busted by Uncle LEO in Vegas, and a SW the highest. Your chances of getting busted are higher when you are looking for a SW in streets you are not familiar with, being a tourist and all.

I have yet to meet a CG that proved unwilling to go with you back to your hotel irregardless of distance. I have also never heard of a CG quoting you a higher number because of the distance between the casino where you are and the casino where you are staying. A CG will quote you a higher price because of where you are staying (Hooters v / s MGM) because they assume someone staying at the latter has more money. Distance has nothing to do with it. You can either take a taxi or in my case the CG will offer to drive back to your hotel in her car. That actually happened to me twice on my recent trip to Vegas. Heck, one CG was a repeat from a trip last year and she even took me to her place this time.

Perhaps it depends on the vibe you give woman as you talk to her such that she feels safe inviting you into her car and driving back to your hotel. I would say is that two small acts of generosity go some way. When you come up to a CG and she is either playing the slots or at the bar, add some money to whatever game she is playing as you engage in conversation and feel each other out. I added 10 and 20 bucks on 2 separate occasions to whatever the CG was playing when I came up and started talking to her. Also, paying for her drink if you are at the bar and tipping the waitress who brings your drinks if you are sitting in the slots will not hurt your appeal.

Then again, perhaps there are men here who would not feel comfortable getting into a CGs car, which would render my opinion here worthless. A lot of strip clubs offer free pickup (for a tip) which allows you free (or reduced) entry, so you only have to pay for a cab home. Vegas is actually a fairly small place, I discovered on this return trip as I gained a better sense of direction. A car is really unnecessary unless you plan to go the SW route or do an incall escort.

One last thing, there are those nice shuttles that run 24 hours between the strip and downtown (Mandalay Bay to Downtown). They offer various deals, but the best one for me was 5 dollars for unlimited rides in a 24 hour period. I used it for 2 days. Good luck!

I was recently in vegas and rented a car. To be honest the rental car seemed more of a hinderence than a help. I ended up riding the Ace and the Duece and leaving the car at the hotel. Also, I couldn't seem to find free parking downtown and ended up paying like 8 bucks to park down there. Never will I rent again. I'll save my money for a beautiful CG (or two). Walk the strip until tired and then hop on the bus. Have Fun.

If you want to stay OFF strip or play in off strip casinos, you want to visit AMPs (especially those in Henderson) , visit incall girls, or want to do Strip Clubs as part of your activities, a car can make things easier. All depends on what you're into.

BTW, if you park at a casino downtown and play a little, you can usually get them to validate your parking ticket.

Ok, I haven't been to LV since 2006 so maybe things have changed. Do they charge for valet now? All the other times I was there I'd valet my car and tip dude a buck when I got it back. Is that not the case anymore?

At least 5 bucks. If a dollar is all you tip at valet stay home or self park. A buck is for a free drink in a casino.

But the girls inside, if they get back quick, and are friendly get at least 2. More if she is a real knockout. The thing about LV, there are alot of people there who depend on tips for a living. If I stay all week, I usually drop at least $ in tips, maybe $$ depending on what I'm doing.

The last 3 time (before last year) I was in Vegas I had the same problem (last time I did not rent). It is just a headache with the car. I would leave the car in the hotel that I was staying like the most of the trip. Sometimes the car was just a waste.

Its all on the ground so no garages or elevators. You have easy access to all of Fremont St for a couple buck tip when you're ready to leave.

Have Fun.[/QUOTE]Las Vegas is probably the most easy to drive cities in the US. Valet is free and you really can't get lost. If you are a newbie, then GPS will take you where you want. Avoid the strip on the weekend and during convention, especially between 6 and 11 when people are trying to get to the shows.
