This afternoon in front of the Iris there were a few girls out working. I noticed the signs in the windows too but I guess the girls didn't notice or just don't care. One marked LE was in the area but didn't pay the girls much attention.

London was supposedly turned in by the last guy(pimp) who bonded her out. She's been locked up since the 5th of Aug. The bounty hunters went & got her from whatever hole she was hiding in. I guess her pimp got tired of her inconsistency; running-off & getting with every guy with a penis . I wish we could post pics.

The only thing to say is that here, in Memphis, this info is publicly available and maybe helpful to us because the ridiculously draconian laws force the otherwise reasonable members of LE to focus on this person or the other. There may be another avenue to post this material ala craiglist or **** (which is free and woefully underused here). Certainly, I don't mean to detract from the useful info posted here. I'll be coming back as long as I am welcome.

See, the reasoning about mug shots doesn't really make sense, because the girls who you photograph on the street don't volunteer to have their pictures taken either. That was what we were told to do on the Birmingham forum- take pics of SW walking down the street and post them instead of mug shots. You can't just plan when a SW is walking down the street to get a pic, and if you know someone is bad news, how are you to get a pic of them, set up a date with them and try to get a pic ? We had an in depth discussion over there with the moderator commenting on several comments others made. You might want to take a look. It will give everyone better insight as to what he sees as reasoning as to why he doesn't want mug shots on the site. I can't say I agree, as it makes us alot less safe to be protecting a SW from being embarrassed when they're liable to rob or kill us. We post mug shots to know who we're dealing with. Sometimes that's our only means of identification. Is it more important to protect a prostitutes reputation than it is to help someone here from being put in a potentially dangerous situation ?

I had a reliable source tip me off to this going down yesterday, but couldn't get over to Lamar to check it out because of other obligations. Looks like those who were concerned about Summer Ave. and the Summer Notel were right on.

I took a quick look at the other news channels and did not see any video about this. It is interesting that the officials decided to hold this news conference on a primary election day, because it seems to have been bumped from most of the stations at 10 pm.

On an ordinary day, this would have been a lead story on all of the newscasts.

Yes, as others say, it is 'his' forum, but he is standing behind reasoning he has gained as virtue of living in another country and how they view their sex workers. He said in the other forum that where he is from most sex workers are college girls out to make a little money, and most of their customers would be very distressed to know they had been arrested, and anyone who would post their pics when arrested only do so because they are angry with women in general and want to denegrate or embarrass them. I feel if enough people here in the United States explain the point to him of how a SW here is different from a sex worker there, and how a SW here will do anything and everything alot of times just to get money for their drug of choice, then maybe he will see the point of why mug shots should be posted. The reasoning just doesn't make sense. This is a board for people seeking out SW, escorts and the like, and reporting on occasional bad experiences to help each forum member out, yet that rule makes it more like the board is actually 'for' the SW or escort, and we're just supposed to be courteous visitors and not say anything bad about them or soil their good reputation. This reminds me of how reports of crimes nowadays and when they're seeking the offender try not to give a culprit's race in the description so as not to offend anybody. When someone needs to be identified, you need all the help and descriptive evidence you can, and it has nothing to do with anything embarrassing, demeaning, hurtful or anything else.

That would probably fall under the category of no hotlinks to other websites showing pics of women. It also really isn't a good idea to have a direct link to the sheriff's website from here. It would be so much easier to just post the mug shots themselves, but then we have their embarrassment and reputations to consider...
