That was a great post Longrod. Having mongered for 50 years myself I've got memories too. However most of them are of the East Coast. But I do remember San Francisco in the 1980s. You could count literally a dozen SWs on each block around Geary and Post. And Times Square in the 1960s? Unbelievable. SWs were everywhere---and all dressed up to the hilt with short skirts, hose and garters and high heels. A Jackson or less could get you FS!

My all time regular provider was Laura (who had a half sister named Liz ... is that your Liz Herb Surfs?) who could be found almost anywhere along First Street. Laura had a good heart, was friendly, unfortunately she also had a nasty heroin habit that compelled the street thing. Liz found it more profitable to make drug deliveries than hooking (I think that spelled her demise).
Laura had an acceptable physique as a youth then suddenly lost it. Put on a horrendous amount of weight (the heavy drugs seem to kill their vital stomach organs, hence the weight gain). Seemed like she was always worried about being picked up by police, who would quickly discover she had warrants out against her.
There was a petite thing (notice I didn't say young) named Cindy who was forever standing around the liquor store on the north side of Saddleback Inn. She was quite the BBBJCIM specialist and always wanted $5 more ($25) because she knew she was worth it.
Drugs, the jail thing that attaches to drugs, the violent people that sell them their supplies ... curious if they (Laura & Liz) are even alive (maybe in the Riverside area, seems that's where the OC hoes retire to).
After I wrote the original piece ... recalled the bus stop at NW corner of First & Grand. You could drive by the bus stop awaiting imposter SW sitting on a bus bench, pull into the parking lot (after the staredown ... an unmistakable sign of what was on your mind) ... and the SW would walk over to the parking lot and get in. Never happens nowadays.
You know the SW scene on First Street has dried up when the Santa Ana B&W cop cars no longer feel the need to cruise into the northside parking lot of the Saddleback Inn.

However, I know Laura, and I saw her about 6 months ago at the bus stop in front of Pep Boys at Main and First. I pulled into the parking lot and she recognized me, came up to my car and she was so out of it on heroin. I felt bad for her, she had lost alot of her teeth and looked like hell. I gave her some money because she is a sweet person that has fallen on real bad times.
Even Bonnie's gone from First Street. She used to park her old Ford truck behind El Ranchito and work First from 9 till noon.

She came over to my parked car, and would not get in at first. 1) Harbor is definitely a hit-or-miss track. You never know what you're going to get. Due to LE cracking down on streetwalkers many of the girls have moved their business online. CraigsList, TS, TER, ect, are the [i]tracks[/i] now. There hasn't, IMHO, been a better selection of resonably priced escorts, in the five-or-so years I've lived in SoCal, than there is right now. And I believe this has helped the hobby more than hurt it. We might have to spend a few more $ but the trade-offs are;
A. Safety. This is self-explanatory.
B. Better quality/more [i]bang[/i] for the $. Girls have to perform better now. A negative series of reviews can kill a providers business. The reverse is, obviously, also true. Now I have a reasonable idea of the type/quality of service I'm going to get before I fork over the duckets.

I think joe has is right. I live close to first street and harbor. The cops are always having their lunch at the Carl's on golden circle. I cruise by the 1st areaarea often and it is pretty barren. The internet is (imho) becoming the way to meet the girls. I am a member or tsr (***********) and ter, at least you know what to expect. Albeit it is more expensive. I have been arrested (on 1st strret! Years ago) I still cruise but my age and material situation have gotten to the point that the internet is my preferred venue these days

Hey guys, finally got back from my travels. Well I got off my plane around 1:30p at the John Wayne airport, and had too much coffee. So I was wired. Decided to cruise Harbor, and right when I got off of the 405 and Harbor, I had to pee. So I pulled into Ikea and look who was walking out of the parking lot when I was going in, Heavenly.
She gave me the look, and she got into my car. She was super cool and I asked her to wait in my car for me so I could pee. Anyway, when I came out she was still sitting in my car. Dang guys, I’ve gotten really lucky the last 2 days. Was on my way to Home Depot in Costa Mesa, and was not even thinking of girls (for once), and saw an incredible black babe sitting at the bus stop on the corner of Harbor and Wilson. Don't know when this report will be posted, so this warning may come a little late. But after a few stops I had to make, to complete my christmas shopping, I decided to hit Harbor blvd. On my way home. This was Friday at around 8: 30-9: 00. From Westminister blvd, I hang a right onto harbor, and everything seems to the same. I see one WSW around that little hook area, a bit past the shell gas station on the left. Then all of a sudden, traffic stops to a crawl. I see cars ditching to the left and the right. Around the Target, there is a check point. And although having a couple, maybe three of four hours ago, the cop still picks me out and makes sure that I stop. Ask me the routine, but I still am able to move on by. It may seem as if they routinely have a check point at that spot, as I will try and avoid it the next time. After that kinda scare, I have narrow vision as I continue to drive, and am not aware of much after that.

I appreciate the photographic work that my friend Fairwinds does for this board. I believe that he and RicMan are the only two consistent photo contributors to this board. They are just capturing whats available out there on the streets. They are'nt suggesting that any mongers pick them up. There seemed to be all the reasons to bring out the SWs today: 75 degree temperature, sunny, busy enough pedestrian traffic to prevent SW strolling from being too conspicuous and sparse LE presence. What drew me out there most though was the guess that, after the Holiday monger drought, the SWs would be hungry and looking out for business.
Wrong. I cruised Harbor along the usual places in the late morning and early afternoon and saw nothing. Except for one, lonely LSW walking south on Harbor towards the South Coast Dr intersection. I pulled into the La Quinta entrance and parked in the Hooter's parking lot. She turned in, walked by, saw me and made the "OK?" nod. I shook my head and she continued towards Hooters and went in. I took the attached pic after she passed my car. Sorry it's a bit blurred.
I have cruised the track a number of times yesterday and today during the daytime and haven't seen one SW. Not one. I hope someone has seen even a little action later on in the afternoon or early evening. If not, Harbor is dry for now.
Hehehehe. Good job Fair. Been busy at work for the past 2 weeks, so I havent been out on Harbor much. But today, I went out 1-4-07 and saw one BSW in a short denim miniskirt near Jack in the Box. Looked like LE. Couldnt get a pic (it was 4:30p) because of the dark skys and I was in the wrong lane :(
I'm heading out there tomorrow with camera in hand. Ill see whats learking on Harbor. Hope I get lucky.
Also, anyone had any luck with Beach Blvd lately?
I'll be in Anaheim for the NAMM show in 2 weeks. Anything with escorts, street walkers around the covention center and the hotels?

And Harbor Blvd. south from the convention center nearly 10 miles (through Garden Grove, Santa Ana, Fountain Valley and into Costa Mesa) all the way to the 405 San Diego Fwy is an off/on hit/miss streetwalker stroll, probably the best known and most "professionally staffed" street in town. But it's far less than reliable or consistent.
It's also the most policed stroll, so out of towners best careful and observant. Don't hassle our school girls, lol- the working girls will be obvious enough.
