I found that the best day to buy Hawaiian Air interisland ticket was on Tuesday, early in the morning. I checked back again on Wednesday and the price went up. This especially true the closer to the date you are flying and on a holiday weekend. Six weeks before the departure usually gives you the best prices.

Hawaiian just started a West Coast fare special- Book between 3-9 Apr and travel between 21 Aug. 14 Nov. I looked at a week in Oct, and it was $429 before taxes / fees.

I experienced everything that Uki E described above. The taxi drivers are in cahoots with the security guards at the hotel, the bellmans, etc. I had inquired about massage from one of the female workers at the New World Hotel were I first stayed at and about thirty minutes later as I was exiting the Greenbelt complex to go back to the hotel, a taxi driver pulled along side me and told me that he'd bring me to a good female massage therapist. I declined and he kept following and hollering at me. Later that day, when I went back to the Greenbelt, he started hollering again and following me. It started to get old.

Several Caucasian foreigners and workers at the New World told me to tell the taxi drivers that I've been to P Burgos Street in the past and to tell them straight that I would only pay 4 pesos. That didn't work and I got the usual,"Pay me what you want when we get there." I experienced that with the tricycle drivers in Laoag and sort of got ripped off. So my friend and I walked to P Burgos that night. I felt safe. It was about 12 midnight. Almost every other business down the street leading to Burgos had an armed guard with a 12 guage shotgun or M16. I guess there was a rugby tournament going on in Manila at that time so there was a lot rowdy Austrailians and Britains yelling and partying. It was like being down Hotel Street in the late 70's where Club Hubahaba was. Not too many male Filipinos that night. A lot of White foreigners, Japanese, Chinese and a lot of Filipina women. Heck, there was also a lot of White dancers and escorts.

Met one dude who was trying to get us to go to a "secret place" to get the cream of the crop escorts. He was telling us that every women in P Burgos were all used up and fucked more than ten men a day. He said that we would have to pay him up front and he would take us there. My friend and I laughed in his face and he took it personally. He was very aggressive with the other tourist, trying to push his viagra and getting them to go with him to his "secret place."

Carry the exact change because they'll say that they don't have change. They'll do that with foreigners. Famous with the tricycle drivers in Laoag. So what I learned to do was to sneak up behind them and hop in the tricycle seat before they saw me and asked to be taken to where I wanted to go. After the ride, I would ask how much, without them being able to see me, and they would charge the regular rate of 11 pesos. When I would step out of the car and they would see me, buffed 220 pound foreigner, they would chuckle and shaked their head. Because I know life is hard there and they were a good sport, I would tip them couple more pesos.

We prepaid 600 pesos, had the same taxi driver who was cool, from Manila to Makati Shangri La and back to the airport on our way home. Some of there famous line is for example,"1700 pesos plus my snack." I told my sister to give him the oreos for the snack and the guy heard and laughed."

If you're in the cockfight scene and gambling, they have it there. If you like Visayan women, majority of the women that work in Barangay 1 are from the Visayan Islands. Then you also have some Ilocano "Black Beauties" as the locals term them. I saw several "black Beauties" that would be able to fit in with the local girls in Hawaii and would put some to shame, IMHO. During tuition time, there are many college girls who attend Northwestern University in Laoag City, needing money to pay for their tuition. I heard horror stories about Laoag but I felt totally safe. Then again, I trained hard and buffed up before I went. My friend and I walked the streets with no problems, when I wasn't with my security gurard (potential fiance). My friend, who is FORCED to go with his mother every year and don't like it, had a good time because he had someone to hang with. He wants to go back ASAP. I got tired of being called Sir with the over politeness.

Makati are where the beautiful Mestizas are. I saw many RR Enriquez look alikes. And they all speak fairly good English. Good Luck.

It will take about 5 seconds to flag a cab and there won't be the throngs of people trying to get you to go with them. In Asia in general and especially in the Philippines I just tell them how much I want to pay. So from NAIA to Traders or Aloha Hotel is normally about 100 pesos. Sometimes when you tell them the price they will act as if it is too low. Act as if you are getting out of the cab and they'll come around quickly.

Sometimes if you hit them too low they will allow you to leave. At which point you can offer a little more or try your luck with another. Once you've done a route a couple of times it's easy to figure out how much a given route will cost. I usually don't bother negotiating them down to the bone, they work hard and the money is worth far more to them than it is to you.

My last trip we flew into Baguio but got socked in and had to take an 8-10 hour cab ride into Manila. The cost was $160. When we were a block from the hotel a bike cop pulled us over and noted the taxi permit had expired. He threatened to impound the vehicle in Manila (it was a taxi from Baguio) unless the driver paid him $400. The driver ended up showing the cop his wallet and the cop took every peso. He then tried to get the driver to extort me but at that point I told the driver to just meet me at the hotel while I got out of the car, grabbed my bags and just walked from there. The cop saw there would be no more money and let the cabbie go. By the time I got there the cabbie was already there. I felt bad for him so I bought him dinner and gave him $50 to get home. The guy worked all day, had to rent the cab and pay for gas. He had another long drive home that night but at least he wasn't going backwards for the day.

If you really want to find cheap quality head for Mindanao. Cruising the streets of General Santos or CDO has got to be the experience of a lifetime. Smokin' hot girls giving you the eye and competing for your attention. It's easy to get spoiled for choice.

Half full compared to other parts of the world, including all of continental US.

Yes after visiting some mongering meccas Hawaii providers bang to buck ratio is a severe letdown. Could be worse though.

Heading for manila for business trip and sneak in a few fun times. Any word on flooding there? I checked the news and it seems to be ok but wondering if there is fist hand accounts from fellow mongers. I've been to SM Mall; but do to jet lad get up at 0700 and wander around Pacific Breeze. Kinda boring and I'm not a pool kinda guy. Any ideas appreciated. It should come up with things to do other than going SM Mall and going bars. What would help is you hang with a girl (civilian girl) who can be your tour guide during the day. There should be Aerial activities, helicopter tours, golfing, go kart racing, hiking. Then at night, hit the bars. Hehe.

Owner is a Vietnam Vet, good guy, actually bought me drinks while partaking in his bar. However, other day experiences at Perimeter have been bad. I am Asian, and most puti confused me for Korean. Just got back from the land of smiles. Only able to sneak out one time and went to NANA plaza. Same thing as I did before, talk about massive selection, especially when you are very short on time! LOL I hopped off the BTS walked fast into each little bar, if you're not familiar with NANA, there are about 4 floors of nothing but dancing women with numbers. Pick and go. So, the first one I ran into a few ladies were up on the stage, and I point at one to come down. She say "Hi", I say whaooo. Ladyboy, wrong club. LOL I appoligized and baught a beer and was out quickly into other clubs. Went to the next level (2nd floor) and popped my head in another. Lots of small spinner perfect little things bobbing up and down on the poles. After making sure I was NOT in another ladyboy bar. I pointed to the cutest most spinner-esqe honey I saw. Told her immediately, want short time. She giggled and away we went. Up a few floors to the hr. Rate rooms, took a quick shower, she immediately got in to some DFK, and BBBJ. Club Bacarra in Soi Cowboy has a mixture of lady boys and females in that bar. Nana Plaza is ghetto / run down and when you walk up the stairs, it stinks and theres cats / dogs be roaming around the place. But, bars like Rainbows has nice girls in there. HiPickle must have stumbled into one of the 3 bars that are the lady boy bars. G-Spot, Cassananovas and Temptations.

I literally, just poked my head in each as I went by to check for size / quality / number. The one that had the most choice, I sat down first, the LB one. Eyes not yet even adjusted, from 6+ feet away, hard to tell. For me. 2 feet away, it's obvious. Anywayz, I went upstairs and went in the one I had gone in about 4 years earlier. Was a goldmine of fine spinner Thai girls. Believe me, I'd head to Soi coyboy if I had the time. But Nana, is just so close to the BTS. And plenty of selection, that's where I went.

Flew Hawaiian Air 3 times to Manila, highly recommend.

I also flew a few times to Bangkok, Thailand w / layover in Japan with United. United is good, but way better than flying Korean Air with a long layover in Inchon / Seoul airport. Don't get me wrong, Korean Air is an excellent carrier but the route through Korea sucks. Recommend planning your layover in Japan vs Korea to reduce your overall transit time.

BTW, idk how you met your girl in the PI and I'm not trying get you all paranoid but be cautious. Travel with a buddy and / or share your itinerary with friends and family. Dudes get ripped off, robbed, etc all the time, and avoid the southern islands (esp. Mindanao, sulu, palawan etc) due to militants. US State Department travel warnings for US citizens is a good info resource.

Go with Philippine airlines since Hawaiian Airlines rates not that great right now. Book a flight for PI in Sep or Oct and it should be cheaper round trip from Honolulu to Manila. It won't be as hot / humid vs going in June / July and it's direct flight to Manila with no stop over. I took China Air before and it stopped in Taiwan and wait time was 2 hours. Agree with Inamona about the other things. Be cautious of this girl especially if you're staying at her place and you haven't been to PI yet. Don't wear flashy jewelry (watches, necklaces) and just dress casual. Don't lose your passport! Avoid talking to taxi drivers that approach you offering you a ride or anyone else that approach you. Also, avoid riding in those Jeepneys by yourself. Stick to the metered taxis and make sure the driver has the meter on. Bring an unlocked cell phone that takes sim cards and buy a SMART sim card at the airport and load it with pesos. They have a booth at the airport that says SMART. Inform friends / family when you do land in Manila and give them your cell number. Cell phone reception can be poor especially when you're in the province area. If you're staying in province area, you may not be able to have any cell reception to call.

I prefer Hawaiian or PAL for AC. Both have a direct flight and the business class is about half of the other carriers (although seats don't have the recline of other carrier business products).

For BKK, I prefer JAL; you can find Y class for about $1, 000. Business while good, is WAY overpriced.

H[/QUOTE]Personally, I wouldn't do this myself. I would rather stay at a hotel that has an in room safe and have her come over to the hotel. Better this way and you are in control and alot safer. Then, you guys go out and do whatever. Plus, you have more options on doing your own thing, seeing other girls and not be stuck with that same girl the whole time. If things were to go wrong with her and she flakes out, what are you going to do? Where are you going to stay?

Make sure you got options and a backup plan just in case things don't follow through with this girl. Don't rely on this 1 girl as the main reason to go PI. Other girls up there will be down to meet up.

Both classes of service were pretty luxurious, and you get there or get back very relaxed, and ready to go. Round trip was 2300, but the cost was justified for me with the comfort. The first time I went, I went on Korean airlines which was very good, about 1000 bucks, but the trip felt long and certainly not as comfortable as business class.

Ahhh but once you get there, the two hour Thai oil massage! Heavenly and in that town no problem with no happy ending, just go down the street and they will give you a soapy, with a very happy ending with a Wahine of your choosing!

Thailand airfare is really expensive right now. About $2, 000 RT with Hawaiian. Damn, that's a lot just to ride a plane. You might as well go AMP 10 times or buy 100 ladies drink at a KB. LOL. A few years ago you could go BKK for $800 RT with Hawaiian. For $2, 000, you might as well go PI. The $2, 000 is airfare + 2 week hotel stay in PI already.

Korean air flight attendants were to me the best looking so I usually chose KAL even to Japan. I also had my travel agent try sit me across where they briefly sat during takeoffs and breaks. Altho friendly, they were classy women most of whom spoke 3 or 4 languages fluently. Small talks were brief and I think most were married or had SOs. They did tell me that they stayed at the Waikiki Resort Hotel whenever they did layover in Hawaii tho. I never seriously tried back then since it was not hard to score with other civilians those days. In other words, I'd think it would be extremely difficult to hook up unless you was one of the many handsome and smooth FM bros, LOL.

Good times, I meet one on my way back asked her where she was staying and I told her I live right around the corner and asked if she want to meet for a bite or drink at the coffee shop on the corner. We meet up and she had her co worker with her after a few drinks later I walk back to the hotel, her friend goes in and I ask if she wants to go across the street to the boat she said no lets just go to your place. We stop at the ABC store got some wine got to my place and lets just say I was ready for a landing and a go for touch down. When she is in town she still calls. Philippine airlines has some nice flight attendants they always flirt but I'm with the wife. I need to ask where they stay when in Hawaii.
