When they ask you to give them money to pay for a hotel and you have never met them before, that is a major NO NO! That is the easiest way to get taken advantage of as you found out. I once talked to a SW who asked me for a ride, nothing else happened, and she admitted that if a monger tries to lowball her during negotiating and he agrees to give her money to get a room, she will for sure take the money and run as soon as the opportunity is there. Said she feels disrespected for being lowballed and does not feel bad, "they put the money in my hand and I take it".

Circumstances were a little different. I drove her to Walmart and waited for her, claims she got pulled into the security office so she couldn't text me. She finally did 30 m after I left her there, she didn't have a ride, haha. She apologized and promised to make it right. I almost believed her until I saw your post.

I trusted Doggins recommendation and tried to see her the other night but had friends drop by that rnded that ipportunity that night. Lucky for me they showed up. No chance in hell the ***** is called again.

I was really shocked when it happened and I still might believe her story. When we got to Walmart she asked if I wanted to go in with her or I could stay in the car and hold her phone. Of course I decided no on both of those and maybe then she decided to dash. Or perhaps she really did get pulled into the security office for opening a drink. Thieves, scammers, etc, have it all down to a science, that's how they find a way to make you believe you can trust them. Why don't you go or call Wal-Mart and ask to speak to someone in security or loss prevention dept and ask them about that. Most likely they will tell you they don't know what you are talking about.

She told me that once she leaves her moms house after a certain time of night, they lock the door and she can't come back in until the next morning (what kind of bullshit is that? This set off the first red flag). Then she claims that she had a friend that worked at a motel off stewarts ferry and that he will give her a "discount" and that she didn't want to go anywhere else.

I don't live far from where she wanted to be picked up so I decided to play along because I didn't have anything better to do. She wants me to pick her up on a side street in hermitage behind these raggedy apartments. So I pick her up while she's.

Walking down the street and she immediately starts telling me where to drive. I tell her we are going to a much closer motel and she says no. I tell her that this motel is closer than the others. She says the bullshit about her friend again and to give her 70 dollars to get the room (which didn't sound like a discount rate to me). I tell her I'm going to use my card to pay and she says why? I say why the hell not? She then says to stop and let her out, so I did. She then texts me saying that the motel I wanted to go to was dangerous and she was afraid that a bunch of Mexicans would bust in and gang rape her and that I couldn't have saved her LOL. We go back and forth until she finally admits she was scamming and that she didn't care if I posted on craigslist that she was doing it. I'm surprised she actually followed through with any of you guys, you must have offered her a lot.

This is a little late as the scammers most likely already moved on to another city. This scam is not new to most of you but it is useful info for newbies. I was browsing the Savannah forum and saw where someone posted a warning, back in January, about a BP ad in which the pics looked familiar. They posted ads in BP here last week using the same pics which I'm sure are fake.
