Like many guys here, I don't share everything I do with the whole world. As a general principle, I think the higher up the scale you go, the more cautious most girls become. However, it's my impression and experience that many of the higher-end types will use verification services for that purpose, not the more primitive, "Tell me your real name and place of employment." It seems to me that to provide your real name and place of employment, you either have to be somewhat foolish and naive or you must not have anything to lose.
