Thanks for the welcome, Drew. Let me add a few thoughts triggered by yours.

Pull in and make a lap around the hotel noting all non-lobby exit doors and the vehicles parked around those doors. Incall stings will often be on the main floor at the end of a hallway by an exit door so guys can be taken quietly to the vehicles outside.

Make your lap and park as close to the lobby entrance as you can. That's what you or I would do as a registered guest. Do it.

Some guys will park a hotel parking lot away and leave their automatic door opener with their car, taking only their key. If the date turns out badly this will make it harder for government employees to locate their car for forfeiture. They won't have something to click to make the lights flash.

Walk in the front door past the front desk without breaking your stride like you own the place and give the staff a nod. Head for the coffee pot and sit down with a cup of coffee. The restroom is another option. So is the computer. Use these destinations to scope out the hallways leading to those exit doors you found when you were making your lap around the parking lot and notice traffic in those hallways. But you can't do too much of this without looking suspicious. You might be on camera.
