Unless you are latino I would not suggest picking up prostitutes in that area.

Medellin has INCREDIBLE looking women but for gringos looking for prostitutes I recommend using brothels which are called "casas".

Most casa's are in the same part of Medellin which the downtown area called La Candelaria.

Casa's are safe and secure, have variety of women and set pricing so you know exactly how much things cost and what you will get.

There is alot of street action in Medellin but its not worth your life and when things go wrong in Colombia they go really, really wrong.

My preferred casa is in English called "New Life". Its clean, safe, has great ladies (that rotate daily) and you will find other Americans there to exchange info with.

Current exchange rate 2,919 pesos the the US dollar. So 30 k = $10.28-US Not much english but money talks. LOL Approach-wise they stand in front or near a short term hotel, clean sheets, fan, porno tv and a shower and fan, you just walk up and say "How much, lets go!" You could write a number with a question mark, if they say yes, follow them to the front desk and hand over the money.

The local strip clubs / brothels are a little more, $20+ on site or $60 to $100 for all night back at your hotel but the women are even hotter.
