I hope it's not the end of an era. The last several days I have cruised the Harbor track at all times during the day and have seen nothing. I did go up to Beach a couple of times and saw that dumpy WSW sitting at the bus stop at Beach and Ball.

Late Jan & Feb tends to slow down. Last year the good action did not pick up til July in SD. Let's hope we don't see another repeat of this in socal.

Since I didn't have to work today, I decided to cruise Harbor for a real long time last night (from 11:30 till a little past 3:00 in the morning). Only saw one decent BSW right when I first got out there. And then, for the next 3+ hours... not a single SW to be found. Amazing. I was so desperate to see any signs of life that I even drove past the 405 and into Costa Mesa, which I always think is a waste of time. Oh well, I'm a trooper, so against my better judgement, I'm sure I'll be back out there tonight.

Well, the good news is that I finally found some girls out on Harbor. The bad news is that the best looking ones happened to be police decoys standing on Hazard outside the taco place and Jack in the Box:

It was a little after 11:00 tonight when I noticed three Hispanic girls at this corner. I turned into the Jack in the Box parking lot to get a look at them. They looked nice and started to literally dance their way towards me, but I decided to drive on. As I pulled out of the parking lot, I heard one of the girls yell, "What's the matter? You scared?" They were cute, but I'm very picky with the girls I pick up (which explains why I come home empty handed 99.99% of the time). A few minutes later, driving north on Harbor I approached Hazard again, and saw a couple of cops arresting a guy at the taco place's parking lot. I saw the three girls just standing at the Jack in the Box parking lot. I thought that was strange, because I know that when SWs see cops, they ALWAYS turn around and walk the other direction, even if the cops aren't paying attention to them. A few minutes later, I drove south on Harbor, and again, as I was sitting at the red light on Hazard, I saw cops arresting another guy. And once again, the girls were just standing at the Jack in the Box, not looking nervous or scared at all. It was then that I noticed five guys (maybe undercover cops?) standing outside the front door of the Jack in the Box. It finally occurred to me that there must be a sting going on. In order to confirm my suspicions, I decided to turn right on Hazard. Sure enough, I saw cop cars hiding out in each of the apartment complex driveways.

Now admittedly, I consider myself to be a very nosey person. So I figured hey, since I once again couldn't find any SWs that I wanted to pick up, I had two options: I could either just drive home, or find a place to park so I could watch what was going on at this corner. I know this sounds crazy, but I ended up parking my truck on Hazard (on the east side of Harbor, next to the used car lot) to see the cops running their sting (on the west side of Harbor). Between every 5 to 10 minutes, I would see the girls walk up to a car (never bothering to actually get into the guy's car) and then would see two or three cop cars rush out from the apartments and into the parking lot. Each time, I saw one of the cops jump out of his car and point his gun at the guy. Then the girl would slowly walk away. After a few minutes, I would see the john's car speed out of the parking lot to head south on Harbor, with a cop car following close behind. I couldn't tell from where I was sitting, but I'm assuming that one of the cops was driving the john's car, while the poor guy himself was in the cop car that followed close behind.

After seeing four different guys get caught, I was curious to see where they were taking the guy's cars. So just before midnight, I decided to follow a black SUV that was pulling out from the taco place. Again, I know this sounds crazy, but again, I'm very nosey like that. As I turned left on Harbor to follow the SUV and cop, I saw one of the decoys get into the passenger seat of a silver Impala (most likely an undercover cop car) parked at the Jack in the Box. The SUV and cop turned left on 5th. After half a mile, they made a left turn into a golf course parking lot. Obviously, I couldn't go into the parking lot, but I slowed my truck down to take a look. The police had set up shop in this parking lot - there were a bunch of cop cars, regular cars which I'm assuming belonged to the johns, at least one tow truck, and an office trailer. I mean... wow. I had this kind of morbid fascination of watching the cops executing their sting, and the whole time I'm sitting in my truck thanking God that I didn't get caught. I sincerely hope that none of you guys got caught either.

One other thing: I couldn't believe how many cops were out last night, and not just on Hazard. There were four cop cars parked at Spanky's and the other porno shop (the cops were talking to a guy outside the other porno shop), two cop cars sitting at the car wash on Harbor and 17th, two cops cars sitting at the 7-11 on Harbor and Lampson, and a handful of other cop cars cruising the streets. Amazing.

Great report, JS. With the lack of SW on Harbor for LE to harrass, it is the perfect time for them go to after the mongers. Some of these guys are so happy (or desparate) to see some actions that they forget the rules. And yes, that Impala is out there all the time.

One advantage to being a dark latino that looks black is you will not get taken down in a sting. Most of the girls at first will not give me the time of day, so if a sw talks to me right off of the bat I know that something is not right and I move on. I will admit that it is hard to hook up, but it's also easy to spot stings. I guess looking black has some advantages when mongering. From what I understand most pimps will not let their sw data black men.

The reason for the increased LEO there on Harbor Blvd. I believe is because of a rape that occurred on Washington & Harbor Blvd. A few weeks ago, it was reported that a teenager broke into an apartment and raped a 8 year old girl while everyone inside was sleeping after it was said that he raped the child she woke up her parents and they called the police.

So you can not blame Santa Ana P.D. for trying to do something to fight against such behavior.

No one is blaming SAPD for doing their jobs. I have absolutely no problem with the increase of LE presence because of violent crimes. At least our tax $$ are being spent the way they should. It is pointless for us to speculate why LE are there. Only they know the real reason.

The point of my post was to illustrate how stupid some mongers act when they spot a potential SW. If you don't follow the rules, you're going to get caught. So, be careful and be safe.

I used to do this all the time. It helped me become more confident, comfortable, and aware while I was cruising. It's just too bad that there is really no good reason to cruise in OC anymore.

Just drives me crazy when things are dead and the only good looking SW's are the decoys.

This girl China: was she a BSW? I used to see a girl who called herself China a few years ago... she was awesome! Wonder if it's the same girl???
