I noticed a post or two asking for guidance during race week and I thought I would share an experience I had several years back during race week. It was race weekend at Martinsville and hotels are booked from Roanoke down to Greensboro, NC. Not thinking anything about it I contacted a provider who had a friend. Agreed to the terms and was given the hotel name and location. I travel a bit and when she gave me the name and location of the hotel, the hotel was in Roanoke but the location she described was in Charlottesville. This should have raised the spider senses. Feeling a little awkward and not wanting to hang by the elevator I walked past the fan to the end of the hallway proceeded through the door / exit and steps. As I turned I noticed the fan pushing the elevator button. So I proceeded to call the provider but she did not pick up. Thinking she may just come out And get me. I peaked back around the door to see the race fan with two police officers standing by the elevator. Needless to say I was down the steps and in the car as if the hotel was on fire.
