This sounds interesting. I could not find anything to back it up. Is there a link that describes the legal argument and verifies this statement? I see how it could be true but, on the other hand, am not sure that an ad meant to catch somebody in a sting would be prohibited from being offensive or targeting / excluding groups? To them it is just a fake ad meant to bring in the target.

But what if he had not been?

Guys, we are human beings. We aren't toys that you toss aside for years and pick up to play with again later. We deserve privacy and the freedom to live our lives without being harassed, just as you do. Many of us are normal women who have loved ones, and we might not want them to know about things we do, or have done in the past. Respect your provider's privacy. Don't ask her what her real name is. Don't attempt to seek her out years later and expect her to provide you services. Only a handful of women actually do this long term. Please keep that in mind and use common sense. What if you had decided you were going to stop seeing providers, and then you had one of us contact you years later, maybe even add your wife on Facebook? What does someone with a long-term partner (among other large commitments) think about first when meeting someone on the side? Not getting caught. Making me wait, having a surprise dog along for the ride, no matter how small, etc may not seem like much to you, or your friends, but to a guy in my position it can mean A) the difference between getting showered or not before she gets home, B) what if she finds dog hair in the car? How do I explain that? What's he going to do when you go pay for the room and he's in the car with me while I'm waiting? Will he pee?
