No illusions on either side, but we genuinely liked one another's company in the same way you might be friendly with anyone else in a commercial relationship (for instance, there's no reason you and your plumber can't be buddies). As long as we're "humanizing" sex workers, maybe recognize that somebody who would "stab their own mother to death for their next fix" has a serious mental health condition, which the professionals who actual know something about substance abuse have understood for a long time.
