NOT related to STD. Can be diet related, but not necessarily. I have a pretty good diet and avoid most triggers. The propensity to develop it is largely genetic. It's related to kidneys not filtering out Uric acid and the crystals form in extremities, like the ball of the big toe, ankles, or even base of the thumb. I've dealt with it for 20 years off and on. Mostly off these days, but recently it has reared its ugly head again. Pain, FUCK yes. It hurts so bad that you can't even bear to have a sheet laying on the affected area.
