It makes me happy to think the last two people to be with Astrid in the end cared about her greatly and treated her beyond well, both you and Amber.

Since she had been in Brandon with Amber for the last few months her housing situation has been as easy and stable for her as it's been in a long long while. Unfortunately Astrid was unable to save money at all. Paying for her vices was always a priority and her rooming was so often a last minute scramble. Any balance on a credit card would have gone up to whatever limit was set and would never have been able to be paid off by her. Finding a place she could rent in her name was always going to be a hurdle but she also would not have been able to save up for monthly rent.

The best and perhaps only chance she had was to end up staying with someone and leaving the business with the hope that she could wean her usage down and somehow one day get clean. Getting meaningfully clean and healthier while still in the business would have been near insurmountable. I told her once the credit card situation got going I would deposit the rebated $ in there and interest so she could see it grow, eventually would try have tried to her to send me some every week to put in.
