I was visiting with a regular 24 hrs ago (Sun, 10:30 am) who is back in the game and clean, and so as of recently has a new phone. She relayed this story that happened a few mornings prior.

She has texted with one of you a few times. She got a new set of texts from an unknown number. It was this guy's wife. My contact talked to the wife *in person*. Apparently bangin' and attractive (mine is too). The wife says married 14 years, my contact says wife has collected LOTS of info, wife thinks husband has been doing this 1. 5 year or so.

If this sounds like you, be careful.

I was using an app that was supposed to be bullet proof for anonymity. Stopped working. Looking for recommends for the best burner plan. Don't need gigs but I can't imagine going back to texting on a flip phone. Thanks dudes.

Because text apps don't have "burner plans" that come with data caps like phones do.

I've used the TextNow app with success. It allows you to easily get a new number rather easily. I often use it to get coupons on food ordering apps like DoorDash and Uber Eats that give big discounts for new customers, so every time I sign up for their accounts with a new TextNow number I am considered a new customer.

You can get limited text for 10 a month or unlimited for 25 a month. I use the prepaid cards purchased with cash do not use your kroger plus card either. There are months I do not get the chance to monger so it depends on which plan I go with. Busy mongering months I get the 25 unlimited slow months I grab the 10 one. Stay safe.

As an example if you have a sprint compatible phone you can get one year of service for 30 bucks. 200 talk 1000 text 200 mb per month. Works out to 2. 50 a month. If you have a phone compatible with another network there are cheap options as well, just look through the redpocket ebay store. I have changed providers many times and have settled on Tracfone for the following reasons. First, I have always used a burner phone rather than an app to isolate the hobby from the rest of my life. This has paid big dividends for me more that once as a phone gets compromised, lost / stolen, or seen by eyes who shouldn't. Just the plausible deniability of "that's not my phone, I found it on the street" has value. And who hasn't sent a text to the wrong recepient or pocket dialed the wrong person at one time or another. Well, with a burner I don't accidentally text a message to a family member or business contact that I intend for a date. Also, I can't pocket dial family or a business contacts if I don't carry that phone on "dates". I buy Tracfone service by the year for about $100 and if I need more text, voice or data, then I add it for a few bucks when I need it. I seldom use voice and have accumulated over the years nearly 10000 minutes of unused minutes that never expire. Besides cost, the one thing I like about Tracfone is that you can use either the Verizon or the AT&T network, depending on which phone you have or purchase. In my business I have learned a lot about cellular and the coverage patterns of all the providers and find Verizon and AT&T are by far the best. Verizon is generally better than AT&T, but as it turns out in my particular area AT&T is much better, so I pick my phone accordingly. The network provider is encoded in the cell phone part number, if you buy the phone from Tracfone, which I have done, so it makes network selection very easy.

Why does it have 100% charge? Why didn't you just throw it away? Why are all these hookers ohone numbers saved in here?

I have found it much easier to just use another text / calling app like Text Now or several others. I download it when I want to hobby, I delete it before heading home. I've never sent a text to a family member or work colleague because I don't allow it to have access to my contacts, ever. I can leave all my conversations in it for later as well. One phone, not two, is best for me. Oh yeah almost forgot, there's no extra cost involved, no minutes to buy, nothing comes across on my bill that says I have 2 numbers.

Also, always buy with cash. Buy in cold months so you can wear gloves and brimmed hat and keep your head slightly below level. Burner phones may not be registered to the buyer, but registered to the retailer where you bought it. Unless you can convince a street person to buy it for you, you don't want a to be recognized just in case 'somebody' is following leads. The people we deal with are probably either going to get caught, or get caught up with someone else they associate with, and you don't want the lead to vet out with you and whatever contact you've had. Keep the phone off and depending on if you cannot remove the battery, keep it in something shielded so it can't be detected. Never use it where you frequent, I. E, home, work, stores you shop, or same times everywhere else. Disable at least a half mile away from your party and disable. Good idea to do this with your personal phone to even if you have location services disabled. Signals still bounce off nearby towers and can be located. In this hobby, it's good to be cautious and paranoid.

I find interesting and useful the feedback by many of you on burner phones. Everybody's situation, risk level, paranoia level, convenience level are different so good to have many choices for burner phones. One big negative I see for using your personal smartphone with burner app is if one has the unfortunate experience of ever being caught in an online prostitution sting. Good chance LE will seize the phone as a criminal tool. If it is a burner phone, no big deal to losing it, but if it is your personal phone you have an additional headache to deal with. If you are lucky, you might get it back after the case is adjudicated. Also, whether a burner or personal phone I assume LE would try to go thru it. I'm not really sure if LE can legally do this without a warrant, but cops don't always go by the law. If a warrant is required, I am not sure if a judge would issue one in a misdemeanor prostitution charge, but best to assume worst case. Just my comments. Have fun, but be careful!
