I can say this because I have exclusively dated women from non erotic massage parlors (like most of the places in the mid west) for more than 10 years. They are small businesses that try to follow the rules and pay taxes. The women are not forced into servitude. Despite what you are told, the ladies normally get 30% to 40% of the door fee plus 100% of the tips. The therapists are considered 1099 employees.

Most of these women just want to see America for a few years. Some find a way to stay here. Most come from middle class families in China and are here by choice. They do not consider themselves prostitutes. They are clean, not drug users, and they take care of their bodies. Massage parlors are a good way to finance their travels.

Living arrangements are really simple. The Spa owner usually rents an apartment near the massage parlor.
