I understand they both have the same active ingredient, but I'd like to hear from someone whos taken both before.
If Revatio is the generic, sildenafil, then I have taken both. The 100 mg Viagra seems to work best for me. I didn't have any side effects to speak of. I think it also comes in 50 mg also. The sildenafil works, but I can only take 40 mg (two tablets of 20 mg) at a time. If I take any more than that, I usually get a terrible headache and then feel like I've been drugged and need to take a nap. So, they both seem to work, it's just that the generic seems to have more side effects for me than the real stuff. The generic is so much cheaper, the side effects are tolerable. I can get 90 tablets of the generic from my doctor for $120 for 90 pills (I think that is what I paid, but I could be wrong). I hope this helps.
