Seriously?
Hey fellas, In any of your experiences, can anyone help me in figuring out an indiscriminate (legal) way to find liquid cash for hobby items when living with a S. O. That manages finances? Few items I've tried:
-Purchase a local grocery retail gift card for x and add to the balance on my rogue purchases at that retailer. Once I amass a balance more than say $25 I will purchase a prepaid visa with it. Thing is that I can't get cash back on a return or use it in the hobby (I don't think)
-I've also purchased items for business and received reimbursement from my employer in cash. But that is far and few between.
-I have used my card as a debit and did the $10 over and got cash that way without setting off alarm bells.
-sold items on CL for cash.
-stored misc. Cash from change on cash purchases with the SO. Such as ice-cream stands, parking tolls ect.
Everything I am doing is not gaining me the cold hard cash in quantities I need to meet the costs. I see great opportunities but the resources are locked.
Any comments on ideas. Other than to rid myself of the SO?
So either you hand your paycheck over to your SO or you have direct deposit.
How about you simply tell her you want a couple hundred a month to spend on fill in the blank (coffee, breakfast, lunch, whatever) , then spend it on an SP instead. After all it's your fucking paycheck. Or, if you already get an "allowance" from your paycheck, forgo all the other crap you spend it on and save it for playtime.

Agree
Just an idea but some of our girls would like real work. If you've been with a provider for a good length of time and have a degree of trust with her you might consider employment. Today I employed Nikki per hour and what a great worker! She was grateful to get the work, never complained and did a great job. I know we must be careful mixing our hobby with our personal life but under the right circumstance it could be a positive thing for both sides. I won't hesitate in the future to use Nikki when I need a helping hand at work.
I'm probably going to get a lot of negative opposition to this post so I reiderate the need to have a level of trust between the two of you. I have known Nikki for two years and obviously felt comfortable enough with her to hire her for the day. My job is also the sort of job that this type of situation can work.
I've done the same thing and it worked well for me. I needed some help, she needed the $ and she did a great job.

Extra debit

Any comments on ideas. Other than to rid myself of the SO?
I know you mentioned it, but I always grab cash back when I use my debit card. I'm in the same boat as you brother, my SO manages the bills and accounts. I'm grilled every time I use my card. I've started to not fill up my truck all the way, then I tell her the truck is sucking on gas. When I grab gas I grab cash back. I'm also a do-it-yourselfer with auto work and house work. I'll say I need something mechanical for the truck, new belt, fuel filter. Etc and she never questions it. It doesn't need the work, but she isn't going to call me out on that. At least she hasn't. I'll pop the hood in the garage, spend 20-25 mins on my phone looking at SW and BP reports, then come in and say it's fixed.
Good luck, happy hunting!

I know

A2[/blue]
Yes, you are right. I should have had a little more compassion. Behind the smart ass comments was the thought that you need to find a second enterprise that is cash based. I will let you think that through.

Blood was a good idea
Kept the sell blood comment to myself, sometimes it's hard not to be a smartass. You're right.
I have a friend that is a single parent. He told me that he donates / sells blood and gets enough money to pay for his car insurance and most of his gas each month. He makes the money he needs without breaking any laws. Much easier than a working another job, and he said it's no big deal.
Not my thing, but it's an option that's out there.

Get everything going paperless. Then set up. A split where a portion of your direct deposit goes somewhere else. You can even send it to a seperate bank. Set up paperless statements with your new bank and your address being your work address. You can even get a secret credit card and set up payments directly from your secret bank.

Or when you go out of town for a "guys" weekend, take all cash so that you can split expenses like hotel, food, gas, etc, and then pocket the rest. Don't be too obvious however, or you will gain EXTRA scrutiny instead of building cash. Also, ask the SO for cash and then pocket some of it. If they give it to you, they're much less likely to monitor it closely if you're careful.

Thanks
I do appreciate that many of you you took my post serious and didn't tC on this subject. Hobbying was a way of life for me before I got married. Honestly I felt like Charley Sheen and had all sorts of fun with out the commitments. Matrimony has its plus but getting strange tail without commitment is truly a cake and eat it too scenario. Where things differ among us is in everyday routines and how receivables are divided between to contractually bound parties. Each situation amongst us here is different. What works for some may not work for others because of the arrangements you have previously made. In mine, I honestly don't care to handle the financial portion of the arrangement. I don't feel hampered in anyway to retain indiscreet portions of the resources I earn. This is simply a desire not to bring obvious awareness to my hobby though missteps that are traceable. I've seen far too many gentlemen that have arrogance about the relationship and feel invincible. Most get a dose of reality in court system after something that could be clandestine wasn't covered up with good care and planning.
Thanks again. I know most of you here may be facing the same dilemma I am. This is why I asked the question. I felt this could be a good work group solution activity.
Thanks to all who have supported and reflected with their ideas.
