They truly believe because they are born in America that they are native americans. This comes from the dumbing down of the younger generation. There is a funny book out by Adam Carrolla titled "In 50 years we'll all be chicks", it gives lots of insight into the differences between the older and younger generations.

Many politicians and local citizens think it is underfunding if the school system. I couldn't disagree more. The kids are coddled and told how special they are all the time which breeds laziness. Some of our youth can barely read when they get out of High School yet they are allowed to graduate. Many of them are as dumb as a box of rocks.

Remember growing up, if you came in first, second or third you got a ribbon or trophy. If you didn't, you got nothing and were told to hit the gym / track / books and try harder. Now you get a trophy just for showing up. Heaven forbid if someones feelings get hurt and they have to actually work hard to accomplish something.

I'm not a Buddhist because I came to this conclusion unaware that Buddhist doctrine prophesizes something similar, but at some point in my late 20's I came to believe that meaning of life for everyone individually is to achieve not happiness but rather contentment in life, each in their own way. It takes a while to stumble upon something which would make you content. Many never get there. Contentment breads certain laxity, inactivity of sorts, kind of "why do I need to achieve anything more, go anywhere now, do anything else in life when I'm content?
Child is not suppose to be content. She's got the whole life ahead of him to try to achieve that state. When a child being told that he is already great and special in the beginning of his / her life, I think he / she begins to feel intellectually content with himself. His levels of energy on the other hand make him very discontent because it's naturally tells him. You got to go, you go to see, you got to achieve, you got to do this and that. Those two collide creating an internal confusion with which a child due to his or her natural immaturity is totally incapable to be dealing with.
There are plenty of reasons why new generation nowadays may seem so psychologically fragile but I think this would be one of them. Absence of 'stick' from using 'carrot and stick' I believe is contributing factor too.

Plus the whole concept of fairness is highly subjective and personalized. What is fair for you may not be fair for me and the reverse. In fact if let's say, you'd be my boss and ask me to do something that you may think is fair, I may not necessarily see it in the same way from my end.
