So far I have not seen a Raleigh PD officer or a US Marshall.

To anyone else reading who doesn't already know, spoofing a caller I'd is extremely easy, all it requires is downloading an app from the app store and paying <$1 per call. I'm sure there are cheaper ways to do it, but my point is that someone's caller I'd means virtually nothing. Stay safe everyone.

I don't even have to wait to find out. PD are not going to run that kind of evaluation on you to gather information. They are going to question you on the phone or in person. Cops don't call to investigate unless they're following up after already having been in contact with you. For the first contact they just show up. They also don't tell you to go spend money to later be reimbursed. This 1000% a scam attempt.

I had some stupid scammer call me from my own number. Stupid is as Stupid does.

But I only snapchatted with her. I suppose people can get phone numbers from Snapchat somehow. If so, she'd be the one I would suspect since she was the highest pressure and gave me a male sounding email address [blue][Deleted by Admin][/blue] to confirm a Zelle payment (that I did not make).

BTW: I will be acquiring a 'burner' phone for further use. Any tips and hints on how to purchase and set one of those up would be appreciated.

Just google "best burner app."

Law enforcement does not make phone calls. They show up at your door. End of story. If there is a fine to pay you will be ticketed or arrested to take it up with the judge. Lets be smart about things guys.

1) Why would you respond to the providers calls / texts? Because I reached out to them first. I would not respond to an unsolicited call / text for such services.

2) Why would you respond to the providers postings? Because they're on RubMD and have reviews there. I know those reviews can be fake and I should have only responded to ads that are verified through here or another similar 'service'.

3) Why would I answer a phone call from a 919 area code? Because my phone number is not a NC area code I rarely get spam / scan calls from 919 AC's, so I tend to answer the phone.

4) Why would I respond to questions in the call? Ultimately I did not really respond. They were initially seeking information that could help find the person, but when they would not tell me the phone number that I used to reach out to the person or their 'stage' name, I merely responded enough to drag them along until they made the offer of 'psychological evaluation', which cinched it as a scam for me. I wanted to know which of the three recent providers was participating in this so I gave vague answers in an effort to continue to engage them.

However the initial questions were structured so that I was supposed to think I was helping locate the missing person, although they sounded scammy from the start. Once they ". Directed their investigation towards me. " (Their words) I knew it was a hoax. I was trying to figure out which provider was participating in the scam and if they knew anything else about me.

Even though most workers are getting legal migrant visas - 150,000 of them in North Carolina each year, when one of these laws passes, these workers tend to avoid the state that passed the law. The reason is because these legal migrants feel like there'll be too much scrutiny on them, and one ICE action means they can't come back legally to the US ever again. It's easy enough for them to go to South Carolina, or Tennessee instead, which leaves crops to die on the vine, unharvested in NC. We'll see what happens next year, but if Ag gets crushed in NC, as it did in Alabama when they passed an aggressive new law, it'll be quickly changed. Maybe the NC legislature could pass some better Rights To Privacy and Consumer Protection laws instead of all of this punitive junk?

Figure out where the police are or are not enforcing things.

I expect Raleigh will be a high enforcement area.

Look to establish more indirect pay to play such as Cuddle Sites.
