If you are an MD, then I am sure you know, that the STD test results you take with you are not worth the paper they are written on. How does the girl know that you haven't had unprotected sex between the time the test was administered and the time you walked in her door? Furthermore, since it may take some time for a disease like HIV to show up in a test, the only sure fire way to know, is to get tested, abstain from sex for, say, six months, then get tested again. Then and only then will you be sure that you are STD free.

Washing with extra strength tide, popping this or that pill, disinfecting with this thing or the other, using mom's home grown remedies may be fine, however condoms are still the best and most efficient line of defense against HIV.

(generalized / dramatized) Sure, we had a lot to learn and it took something like this to change culture, opinions and behaviors. So I get that there lingers an underlying fear of dying from having unprotected sex. It probably was necessary to give that view years ago, to change behaviors. So I can see that.

What bugs me is that things aren't static and what we learned years ago may NOT be true today. Science and humanity marches forward, improvements are made. So sticking with "old knowledge" or "beliefs" maybe ones prerogative in a free society, it does not make them fact or the truth.

3. As far as washing with soap and water as a method of avoiding AIDS or HIV. That is just plain IGNORANT! The skin is a pretty good barrier to things in the environment, including the vaginal environment. However, if one has sores, scabs, cuts, knicks, razor burn, raw skin, etc. Then that barrier is open or depleted. That is the point of the condom. It provides a barrier that HIV and other STDs are unlikely to penetrate. But with an opening in the barrier then infection has a direct route to the blood system. Washing afterwards isn't going to stop infection that has already reached the blood system.

I will say, that as a general health protective measure, washing the genitalia after sex IS a good idea. Shoot long before AIDS was ever heard of Medical professionals told me to wash and urinate immediately after sex as a good practice.

4. I do not understand why one would pay up to $500 for a girl, then add an addition $500 to play with her bareback. Of course monogamous relationship with a clean, tested partner is 100% safe. You risk adverse? Get monogamous!

Here is a list of the 10 STD tests that make up a "full panel" test. I've added what I have found as notes to each. I'm sure others can add to it or perhaps correct some items?

It includes everything needed to get a result included in the kit. I forget, but think once the sample is collected it takes 10-15 min to get a result. No need to send a sample to a lab. Test kits can be purchased on line of is some pharmacies. Did you know of these test kits and their availability?

I think if one reads (as noted above), they will see that they can get an antigen test which detects the exposure to HIV in 1-3 weeks time. So if one wants to be "sure" (as sure as anyone can be) then wait 3-weeks (while abstaining from sex) and get retested with the antigen test!
