You never know who might have prying eyes or who might get ahold of your phone. A burner phone is not a practical solution for me. Hi, anyone heard about the connections between the Artesia and San Jose murders? Word is two crews are duking it out for territory. A Chinese hooker was killed in Artesia last week and a Chinese pimp was killed in San Jose, both from San Gabriel. Are these connected to Jona's disappearance at the beginning of the year?

A woman in her mid-30's was found dead Friday at a hotel in Artesia and investigators believe she was fatally assaulted.

The woman's death was reported about 10:40 am In the 16900 block of Pioneer Boulevard, near the Artesia (91) Freeway, according to Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez of the Sheriff's Information Bureau.

Deputies responding to a report of a female not breathing were directed to the woman, who was found lying unconscious in the middle of a room at the hotel, identified in news reports as the Artesia Inn and Suites, Navarro-Suarez said.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

"It appeared the woman suffered traumatic injury from an assault resulting in her death," Navarro-Suarez said. "It is unknown at this point in the investigation if a weapon was used. ".

No arrests were reported.

Sheriff's Homicide Bureau detectives were investigating the fatality.

ARCADIA, CA — A man who was shot and killed in San Jose on Thursday night has been identified as 31-year-old Xingjian Li of San Gabriel in Los Angeles County, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.

Li was shot at an apartment in the 300 block of Elan Village Lane around 8:40 pm Thursday. San Jose police said they located a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police said on Thursday the motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation and they haven't named any suspects.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the San Jose Police Department's homicide unit at (408) 277-5283. Persons wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (408) 947-7867.
