I would guess that the ratio of spam, fake, fraud, and blackmail to genuine connections is VERY high. I would advise caution.

Now there is plenty of all of that on SA as well.

So no harm in trying if you use appropriate op sec.

I have one success on AFF and it was quite a while ago. All else has been nonsense. Worse than Ashley Madison, which is largely lousy as well.
