It's gotten pretty bad since there's no consequences for this dickheads fucking things up for us. Yukina just told me that someone ripped her off on her second day. 10 ten can't do anything but to blacklist the guy. The times have changed, I'm about 50/50 now on getting charged upfront when meeting new providers. It doesn't bother me that much any more.
Also: Restaurants reservations at popular places in New York have become pay upfront now as well in many cases. Their RSVP systems have been abused too much. The penalties for no shows can sometimes be the price of the meal.
