There are two major types of Vitamin K, and each one does something different. The article you mentioned only talks about Vitamin K, not K1 or K2. I don't know which one you are taking. You talk about your blood thickening. Vitamin K1 is required to make your blood clot. So you might be increasing your risk of getting a heart attack or stroke.

You also mentioned that you are taking a nightly Aleve. There are many side effects from NSAIDs, and I don't know if they are helping you with your inflammation, wherever that might be. They don't cure the cause of inflammation.

It's a free country, but if it were me, I would consult with a doctor or pharmacist before continuing with the drugs and supplements you are taking.

There are a lot of things to balance for sure. I have talked to my regular doctor and urologist about what I am doing. Lots of things to balance and be mindful of. I am also donating blood on a quarterly basis to help with blood thickening.

I had a prostate cancer biopsy a couple of years ago. Returned "suspicious". Psa was elevated. Subsequent tests show no cancer and psa is lower and in normal range now.

Yes risks to consider. My family has tendancy for diabetes. I am down 30 pounds since I started testosterone therapy in 2011. I walk, workout and cycle. Some tennis. My dose of vitamin K is relatively low and I only take it every other day.

I take a couple of medications that make me need to urinate. Blood pressure and blood sugar meds. I am not diabetic. YET. I have never been a good water drinker, so I have focused on being better at that and being hydrated.

I read about all this stuff on a regular basis and am mindful of risks.

There is some evidence that benign prostate swelling is caused by too much calcium and not enough magnesium in the body.

It's been an interesting adventure so I thought I'd share. I usually stock up on 100 mg Sildenafal's when I travel and get them OTC. Been doing that for years. Cut them up and they go a long way. Ran out so I did the Lemonaidhealth thing which was very, very easy. $25 done. Got a script for 10 50's per month. Sent the script to the Walgreens where I go and it got tied up in my insurance. Long story short, out of pocket was full retail of $400! I later got a letter from the insurance company saying they would cover 6 doses per month, not 10. Not sure on the co-pay. After some RTF here I checked out GoodRx and they had a coupon at a local grocery store that I go to all the time anyway. 10 50's for $20 out of pocket, no insurance. Sure enough they honored the coupon. Call in the numbers on the coupon when you place the order. Since I'm going to cut the 50's in half I'm at $1 per dose not counting the $25 consult. If the coupons run out I'll go with my insurance.

Lessons learned: If you want XXmg say that's what you've been using. I was partially honest and said I was cutting 100's in half. Also, check out the coupons available in your area to see where the deals are and send your script there. I'm going to guess Walgreens is not on that list.
