Do you vary your pickup approach?
I have been on SA for 2+ years now. During that whole time, my "initial conversion rate" or ICR has been consistently low. By ICR I mean the percentage of SBs who give a meaningful response to my initial outreach has been pretty low (don't have actual statistics). If I can get them to a M&G or first date, then things change dramatically, but that counts for nothing if they don't respond in the first place.
My low ICR did not matter initially. I found two keepers, and played with others as they came / went. But more recently, after my two keepers graduated / transferred, I struggled. I went whole subscription periods without meeting a single good SB! Maybe some good enough for a one time hookup, but nothing better.
So, a few days ago, I changed my initial outreach PM. Previously I almost always sent a nice guy, blah blah blah introduction of how I wanted long term, once a week, etc. I scrapped all that. Instead, I replaced it with a much more assertive, overt style. Now my PM says I know what I want, and I give some sexually suggestive (but not explicit) examples. Guess what? The response rate has dramatically increased!
Clearly there are more SBs interested in dirty-minded P-P than nice guy P-P! I now have leads for multiple SBs who say they want to bend over for daddy and other things. Many of the responses are enthusiastic! The women responding are not the same as the ones I previously dated – the nice girl UCSD / USD types. (Plus a porn star or two, but they were "easy" The girls responding now are not intellectuals – but should I care if they really are ready to deliver their bums? The nice girls never did.
In conclusion, do you pros ever vary your pickup patter, try different approaches? Clearly they make a difference!

But more fundamentally, for me, hot amateur co-ed girlfriend-like UCSD and USD students beat out worn out HX girls ceaselessly moving the country in search of half hour tricks. They win every time. They don't charge by the hour, and SA dates are never half hour affairs.
