Personally, the only deposits I'm interested in would be ones that involve a provider's holes.

The hobby is evolving, pretty soon it's going to be incredibly difficult to find a provider that doesn't request a deposit. There are people who book multiple hotel rooms for the same time in Vegas, then cancel all but one. I suspect there are also guys who book with multiple girls, then cancel all but one on short notice. No-shows or late cancellations are a legit problem. In Vegas, I think some of those are tourists who gambled away their hooker money and could no longer afford the appointment. And Vegas attracts men who are just as scammy as the women. I appreciate the ones who just ask for you to send an Uber / Lyft as a sign of good faith.
Because of the law, there's not a good solution to the problem. Given the situation, ask yourself what you would do in their position and wanted to protect yourself and could afford to say no to the prospective clients who raise the most red flags.

I got robbed the very first time I paid a deposit. I've paid dozens of deposits since then and have had no issues. Why? Because on the very first one I thought with the wrong head. I od my research on the providers, check reviews, demand video chat before I see them. If they can't jump through my hoops then I won't see her. We have to jump through hoops to see them often so I do the same. I tell them all if I'm going to pay a deposit, I need to screen you before I send a dime. The fakes and robs will tap out.
There is a huge difference because hotels are legitimate businesses. In Vegas, you have to be as scammy as the women just to keep up. Thinking like a criminal without actually being one can save your ass in many cases. Even Uber will charge you if you or your person doesn't show up by the way. Some of those UBER drivers also have your info on display on their phone, which I also do not like.
The fact is that hookers think their time is more valuable than ours. My friend says "They act like they are doing something important like brain surgery. ".
And he is correct. You got to realize that most of these girls do not handle their shit like a professional business, so why treat it that way?
