Follow-up to "One Safegaurd"
First off, I spelled the word incorrectly. The correct spelling is "safeguard" not "safegaurd."
Second, I wrote (in part):

After checking the website of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, the U.S. Government department responsible for printing our currency (and stamps), it turns out that you need [b]more than 50%[/b] of a bill in order for them to exchange it for a whole note. Many, if not most, banks will accept and exchange a note for which you have [u]both[/u] halves. If you lack both halves, you'll have to mail it to the BEP. Of course, you only need to worry about this if [u][b]you[/b][/u] are the one stuck with two matching halves of a note.
