I got caught slipping last night for the first time ever in this hobby, and it has left a bad taste in mouth. I won't go into specific detail on the board, all I will say is one thing. As a gentle reminder, always dictate the interaction between you and a SW. Always. If she is not abiding or going along with what you want to do, take her right back where you found her and keep it moving. The very second you drop your guard and allow your little head to overcome your logical reasoning, that's when you get caught slipping. My pride and ego are what's hurt the most right now because I made rookie mistakes and like I just said, I'm always on my p's and q's, and the one time I'm not, that's all she wrote.
I'm upset at myself, but aggravated at the SW. The loss she caused me financially was ZERO because I had no cash in the wallet she stole. But the future aggravation she caused by forcing me to at some point take some time off from work to go to the DMV to get another driver's license, that's what pisses me off. Not to mention some sentimental pictures and my social security card were also in there because I just recently got another job and had to bring it to the office for new hire orientation. So now I have to worry about possible identity theft, which, they're in for a rude awakening because I'm the last identity you want to steal. My credit is already in the pits.
In her haste to leave with my wallet she left her lighter and crack pipe in my vehicle, and also her cell phone. I called all 4 contacts in her phone, one answered, had a long conversation and learned the real identity of this SW. The message I left was, I just want my pictures, ss card, and license, but I'm 100% sure my wallet was ditched the second she saw nothing but maxed out plastic and costa rican money I saved as a souvenir. Again, I'm more aggravated than upset. The only person I'm upset at is myself. If I was a different kind of guy, I would stalk the trail every single night until I saw her again. But I don't have that kind of time nor am I that type of guy. Couple of friends have suggested filing a police report. Problem is, I haven't told these friends that I was mongering when I got ripped off. So my question to the board is, should I still file a report?
