Sugardaddying itself would never go away of course, but it would be forced into underground mode where far fewer girls would be comfortable even uploading their pictures to it, and it would not get near the media exposure that it gets now.

I'm sure it would continue in some form -- it can still be done via mainstream dating sites, but doing it successfully and in high volumes would get a lot more difficult.

I recently cut a potential out that wanted to "keep it simple". When I had that defined she was leaning toward the do it an go arrangement, of which I replied that it sounded to much like an escort deal, and thank you but I wasn't looking for that and ended it. I will be one of the SD that won't contribute to the escorts coming on this site. If we all just collectively do the same it would go a long way to preserving what we have.

What goes on right now might seem innocuous enough, but all it would take is one big media story which connects one of the major SD sites to an instance of human trafficking, and we all better not be oblivious to the fact that it would then become FBI target number one.

That's not to say any legal woes would befall anyone of us reading it here, but I don't want to see SD sites that promote legitimate arrangements all be branded as online brothels, because not all of us use them that way.

What I didn't like seeing were the TV shows recently discussing this new "phenomenon". It just brings attention to too many people who have the means to eventually get it shut down. I'm talking about the Femanatzee women in congress that are jealous. It will be those type of women who would make it a crusade with the media to put a stop to it by causing these sites and the girls that sign up for them to dry up.

If one can't stand the potential embarrassment at home or professionally, then one ought not play the game. Yeah well, I think many of us have older, less interested SOs, some menopausal and dried up. Nothing feels better than a 22 yr old vagina-period. LEO: is a real risk in the escort world. For 10 yrs I saw many, went through high dollar services, and some with their own web pages. I felt anxious every single time I made my way to a hotel room. But the excitement was hard to deny. I was lucky, and no longer dabble in that world. All of the services I used then were busted and shut down. They could easily make an example of select Sugar sites by setting up a bust. But most SDs go through a M&G process 1st, then move on to the FC later, which makes it seem safer and more like a date. The volume is not high enough to make it worth LE time to try to nab one guy who takes his Pot to dinner, then to the FC. I think that is what will protect the Sugar sites. If an SB offers an immediate trip to the FC for $X--run!

I don't think individual SDs have that much to worry about in terms of stings. LE isn't interested in going after individual difficult to prosecute cases.

However shutting down the sites by strangulating their e-commerce mechanism would represent a big win for either a single politician, a group with an agenda (femi-nazis have been mentioned here already, that's one possibility), or the FBI wanting to show their might, and that's the real risk.

The reason it's not good for us individually to have text or emails showing offers of money for sex has more to do with protecting ourselves from legal issues in the event of a disgruntled SB turned stalker when they are cut off from the sugar, or whatever the case may be. If we call the cops on an SB, and they have proof we offered them sex, our mug shot is going on display for the world to see and that's not good for many of our professional lives or relationships. Folks who have no SO, and are independently wealthy probably have much less to fear in these types of scenarios.

I suppose there is a small chance that SD sites could be used as sting launching points if the escort activity gets too high. Right now BP is much more fertile soil for that sort of work for any LE dept -- that could change in the future if BP falls.

So, two very different risks, but both are consequences of playing the game carelessly.
