Reach out to 3 people in rapid succession and whoever gets there first wins. Or if someone drives by at the right time then all 3 people are out of luck. Then you get a text 30-40 minutes later saying 'Where are you?'. When you're dealing with candy you pretty much have to deal with the numbers game. I'm guessing it is also played from the other side, too.
