If you are going to see more than one girl in a room I'd be careful in the more high end hotels -they are discreet and don't want to get into why guests are meeting others, but they don't want to be associated with the systematic hobby- if you are doing a multi person meeting stay with with the 2 star and independent hotels.

The better the hotel, the less likely you'll be questioned in and out, unless you look like you just crawled out of a Quick Lube pit.

I travel LOTS, and most "business" folks in nice hotels are dressed in clean jeans and a polo or untucked dress shirts, even jeans and clean tees. Just walk in and out like you belong there, because you do! In recent times, some companies even do job interviews in hotels, so meeting in the lobby and moving off is in no way suspicious.

Of course, walking in and immediately shouting "Do you need to see my ID?" at the desk clerk will draw some strange looks.

Not comfortable? Once things get back to normal, visit some mid to nice hotels for a cocktail, or just to see the lobby, and watch things. Note the dress, folks walking by the desk, and people entering and leaving. Once you do, you'll be far more comfy in a nice property vs. a notel.

And BTW. Local people rent rooms ALL THE TIME! They had an argument, the house is being painted, my wife has COVID, I'm looking for a great place for relatives to stay. In reality, nobody asks.
